"Iron Giant (Did you know Vin Diesel is the voice of the giant)"
I love that film.
PS
What appears to be an anachronism is the F-86 Sabre Jets being launched from an aircraft carrier. These would have been the FJ-3 or similar carrier borne redesigns of the F-86. The sweptwing F-86 was itself a redesign of the FJ-1 straight winged Naval fighter.
These are very seldom seen fighters.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
IMDB lists all kinds of goofs for the movie Iron Giant that I never would have picked up on in a million years.
I also did not know that the Iron Giant was fully computer generated
and one of the discarded robots in the hanger of Sky Captain is the Iron Giant.

Season 11 of King of the Hill.
Before that, apart from the previous seasons of KotH, I picked up FLCL for my anime library, and Stalag-17, The Great Escape and The Dirty Dozen for my WWII library.
It's not an acquisition, but I'm watching SyFy Channel's The Expanse online. Well, up through Episode 5, that is. Starting with Episode 6, SyFy forces a login by choosing your TV provider from a list of cable companies. But I don't have cable, I got rid of it, that's why I watch things online. So, I'll have to wait to watch the rest of the series.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
Just bought a collectors edition of "Broken Saints" for $1.
If I'd known more about this series I would have bought the other one they had left at the same price and left it in the shrink wrap as a collectors item.
The DVDs are a class act. All sorts of extras and interactive stuff.
The story is strange and powerful. Its an odd sort of animations, mainly a Graphic novel brought to the screen with only limited movement of the characters.
The author must have been heavily influenced by the X-files or the Lone Gunmen.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
Weren´t there one season of THE LONELY GUNMEN from THE X-FILES (the 6 new episodes are airing here in ca. 2 week, I go crazy till then...)
Got myself the BRs of:
HARBINGER DOWN a monster movie I waited now for nearly a year from first reading and kickstarter to the BR arriving on coming Thuesday from amazon.
MAN OF TAI CHI I fell "in love with" after seeing the trailer.

John, yap, I bet! Love those movies, too! I know it sounds rediculous, but I hope there will be more of this stuff!

Just pre-ordered the Blu-ray of The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane, a 1976 film starring a young Jodie Foster as a homicidally-inclined teenager; it comes out May 1st.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
I know nothing about the movies but they were recommended to me on a thread I had started about favorite movies."Abbott and Costello Meet the Monsters collection"

I know who Abbott and Costello but have never seen a single film with them. Really the only reason I knew they made monster movies was because of some cool looking model kits I saw here on the clubhouse.
