New Godzilla Trailer Dropped.

#1 Post by Marc T »

Just saw the trailer for the new Toho Godzilla. The G Daddy is CGI and very, VERY reminiscent of the 54 design.

Yes I agree, though I suspect they won't stray too far from the Toho formula, I do like the design that tail is just nuts! Also The designers appear to have a thing for the Balrog from LOTR. The regenerating Godzilla has the appearance of cooling lava. similar to the Balrog. Can't wait for the kits to start coming in from japan.

Personally I hope T-facto and Shinzen do one.

I liked the trailer and I think the new Godzilla design is pretty interesting. I am just sooooo happy that the Toho Godzilla is back! I really missed that guy.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the kits that come out for this.

I like a lot of things about the design, but I am not sure about those little arms.
He almost looks like a trex with those things.

After seeing the Sakai sculpt I have to say I'm not digging the arms or the head. Something about it looks deformed... :(

Not completely sold on this.....yet. Would like to see more and hear more like if there is another monster he fights or what's his back story of why his skin is a "cooling lava-esque" texture? If his eyes were white, I'd swear he was a zombie; He's slow moving, rotted looking skin texture, sickly! Not a good look for this monstrous icon IMHO! "The Walking Dead - Godzilla Rises!" And please, tell me this ain't gonna be no restart origin like they seem to do in every movie?! "About 55 millions years ago, Godzilla was frozen in ice. A nuclear blast awoke him from his slumber....." Oh, Please! :beatdeadhorse:
Sorry, at this point, I want the Legendary Pictures Godzilla! Come on 2018!!!!

Big G is definitely looking MASSIVE in this trailer. Like, if he stood straight up the air might be getting thin where his head is in the atmosphere.

Godzilla attacks japan but is continually woozy from lack of oxygen.

Anyone seen photos of the Takeya maquette? He really focused on sculpting scar tissue on the figure - looked really cool. Still not digging the head and arm proportions though.
