What song caught your attention today?

#1 Post by tay666 »

Kind of like what are you listening to now, but this is more for those songs you hear on the radio that just catch your ear, or won't get out of your head

For me, today it was Slow Ride by Foghat.
Was just pulling out of the drive thru at Dairy Queen. The sun was shining, most of the snow is melted around here, and it was almost warm (about 35).
Traffic was light, and I was cruising and jamming.
Made me feel almost like it was spring and I didn't have a care in the world!
Man those feelings are few and far between this time of year,

So, anything catch your ear today?

Driving home from Running Errands...

Flipping thru the stations on the Radio and hit Stevie Ray Vaughn's "Pride & Joy" just as it was starting! Did some Dashboard drumming while at the stop lights! LOL... 8)

Yesterday I hear 'Peaches" by the Presidents of the United States.

Brought back some great memories.
I think that was the second tape my son ever bought (the first being the ninja turtles one at Pizza Hut  )

Man how time flies. Today he is in Cleveland taking his military physical for the reserves.

Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien

Anytime that comes on, you can hear my truck from a block away (and I'll be in danger of getting a speeding ticket). Now that's a guitar solo...

Bob Seger - "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" - the first song I ever heard by him in grammar school and then didn't hear another hit for almost 7 years. A great kick-ass no BS rock & roll song about being young and alive and ready for anything. It's probably still my favorite Seger song after all these many years.

I know exactly where you are coming from Ron.
I get that look when I do that as well.
Then again, it could be caused by the sight of me headbanging and drumming on the steering wheel while I sing along as well :D

yo Rick ... yeah, you should be knowing that Pushmonkey ..they're from your neck of the woods, eh??

That disc is pretty kick ass all around .. Lefty / Ashtray Red / Spider are my favs. Their second one, El Bitche is really good too!!
Plus... I just like saying "Pushmonkey" too .... LOL!!!!!

A long time friend of mine (his younger brother, also a long time friend, plays guitar in Throttleman with me) has lived in Houston since college. His wife is from Lubbock and has known the Pushmonkey guys for a long time, since their beginning, I think. In fact Tony is their son's Godfather!! They played Grand Rapids a few years back ... I couldn't go and missed the chance to hang out with them backstage, tour bus all that good stuff! I also missed the chance to see how Darwin, the drummer, plays a full kit standing up (leaning on a lean stool actually) ... friggen amazing!

Yesterday when I went to pick my daughter up, 'Juke Box Hero" was on the radio.
Man, that one brings back some memories. Most of which I still can't share with my kids

Yeah, I've listened to some of those tunes. Catchy stuff! Sounds like old Elton John!

Maroon 5 is another one, they remind me of old Stevie Wonder!
