I edit my photos on a stand-alone photo program on my computer and upload to Photobucket for hosting only. The folks at Photobucket have designed the site so that you are spamed into submission to pay monthly to get rid of all ads.
I've given up on PB too. I edit photos on paint.net or GIMP (both free to download, GIMP has more functions but paint.net is quicker and easier). I use DeviantArt as my photo host.

photos in photo bucket.
Seems like every time I log on they change everything around.
Thanks
In your library, move your mouse over the pic you want to edit but don't click on it. You will then see the options in the pic on the left side that looks like three horizontal white lines. Move the mouse over these three lines and you will see the "edit" option. If you double click on your pic from your library, your isolated pic will be enlarged and there will be icons in the top right just outside your pic. The icon with the paintbrush in the square will then be your edit option. Thanks and good luck!
Photobucket is a pain because of all the ads that slow down editing and uploading, but I found a way around it..
First I downloaded a app on my photo called Resizer. I tried several photo editing apps and liked this one best. I take a photo of my models and use this app to resize the photos. On your phone you can actually edit your pics but not the size so I use Resizer for size of the pic and the phone itself for color and other cool things...
Then I downloaded Photobucket app which is waaaaaaayy better than the website because you can upload the photos straight from your phone into the site and it is much faster than using the computer. What you can not do is edit the photos on Photobucket through your phone, thus the need for Resizer app.
Now do you have to resize the photos to upload them to Photobucket? No you don't, but I noticed that because the photos on my photo are big, when I uploaded them to photobucket and then to The Clubhouse, they are huge. That's why I resize them by about 70% on resizer first.
But if Photobucket is really annoying you, then Deviantart is great as well as a bunch of photo hosting sites. Just google it and find out.

Hi, I have PB and am fed up with the ad's as well I'll try DeviantArt and could you tell me what GIMP stands for ? I haven't a smart phone so I use my PC for all my internet work. Karl
Photograph what interests you today because tomorrow it may not exist.
I've used it before, but didn't like the interface. Probably just me.
My previous editing program got me used to doing things one way, and that made things not very intuitive for me in GIMP.
I did find it very useful for making animated gifs though.
I edit my photos in Picasa (free program from Google) before I upload them. Picasa has basic features (resize, crop, lighten, darken, add text) which are adequate for me.

It's not just you, GIMP's a pain to figure out. I usually use paint.net instead unless I need to do something more complicated than cropping, resizing, or making basic color and value adjustments.

I think it stand for "GNU Image Manipulation Program." But don't ask me what GNU stands for... I'm with you in the increasingly exclusive no smartphone club. Everything I mentioned works fine with a PC.

See, that was the thing. Those are mostly what I do, and GIMP doesn't seem to be designed for simple stuff. I just want to process large quantities of photos quickly and easily. GIMP is great for more powerful usage. Like I said it was perfect for doing animated GIFs.
I was using iPhoto Plus 4. (which despite it's name isn't an Apple product. It was a windows program that came with a printer I bought in 1999). But it didn't handle layers or transparent parts well. Which is why I tried GIMP.
Then when I upgraded to Win7 it wouldn't work and I had to find something else. GIMP just wouldn't do for my needs. I ended up tracking down the maker of my favorite program was ulead, and they now put everything into Corel. Which is what I use now.
(except there are still a few things I run iphoto through virtual machine in XP mode to do. Like stitch photos as it is still the best and easiest interface I have found for that job)
