Hopefully someone else will find the right info for you.

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
Does it have a sub on the base? If it's the one I'm thinking of, that was a bashed Bandai figure that someone kitted.
I started building John's D-Tech G2k skeleton kit. That thing is frickin gorgeous. I think I like it better than Takeya's skeleton.

I won four things. Two I paid about what I believe they would be worth. The other two I practically stole. I think it part because they did not have good pictures etc. I think they would have done better going to Ebay and taking advice from people on the board. I'm guessing the estate would have made more money. That and having this sale right after Wonderfest when a lot of people are tapped out on cash made for less profit for the family.

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
I wasn't impressed with the packaging of the kits I won.
Both had damage - fortunately nothing that can't be fixed - but broken nonetheless.
The main shipping box had a pretty large gash so I guess I should count my blessings nothing fell out along the way.

Oh heck - that does NOT bode well for the rest of MY shipments thenderekc62 wrote:I wasn't impressed with the packaging of the kits I won.

What sort of damage Derek?

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
I won a lot with several smaller kits that John had painted but was only after one of them and luckily it was one of the few that did not arrive damaged. It could be that this damage occurred before the auction and was just not stated in the listing so I wasn't too worried. I did however not see one really cool piece in the lot that was the first that I unwrapped that had been damaged in shipping however it looked like it just broke at the glue line and will be easy to fix. A really nice piece hidden amongst the rest of the kits and I quite like the paint job.
Other lot that I won that came in the same box was an unpainted/unassembled 1/6 scale figure kit that may or may not be missing a small piece. Have to find some pics online to see if I can confirm it.

So that comes in at (rounded) averages of:kitator wrote:The auction house just now called me to give me a total for shipping ,which consists of materials, labor and actual shipping they said.46 kits ends up being 11 boxes, and the shipping total alone comes to $750![]()

- • $68 per box.
• 4 kits per box.
• $17 per kit.
Maybe doesn't sound so bad if you look at it that way?

But then that's still a lot of money
Can't help wondering if they CONSISTENTLY oversize the boxes by more than they need to (as they did for mine).

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
I think I got charged $8 shipping for the item I won in round two. On the down side, it was busted up pretty badly. Good thing I'm a modeler.

Ask in the kaiju forum and I am sure someone there will be able to identify it right off.SPRAYRAY wrote:Thanks for the pics the built kit is if I'm correct is Godzilla 2000 , the one I got has a different base and the one based on 60's Godzilla the dorsal fins are the 60's look , Thanks Spike for looking out !

Yikes!
Were some of them bigger kits?
That is only 4 kits per box.
I got all these in one box for $25.
Granted, the 3 bigger ones are styrene and the other 4 aren't very heavy.
So the box didn't weigh that much, and not much chance of things banging into each other.

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
Al lot of Anthony's were small to medium sized so I can guess they did to his stuff exactly what they did to mine - standard sized box that (depending on which of their shippers packed stuff) was WAY too big for what was needed.tay666 wrote:![]()

So far, as requested (finally!), they have held onto all the REST of the stuff I bought - but I'm dreading the final shipping bill on Thu/Fri after John's last auction ends.

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
Got my to kits yesterday.
Like everyone else not real happy with the pack job.
Godzilla's tail was snapped at the glue line. nice and clean will go back with no touch up.
Never mentioned in the auction that Biollanta is a light up. they "might" have popped a bigger price with that in the description.
Was 20 bux a kit shipping both in the same box. box was 24x24x24 and could have been 24 L x12x12 with a better safer pack.
ALSO they loaded me up with those damn foam peanuts no one here knows how bad I hate those and contribute the tail break to the peanuts.
Other then that I'm happy and got everything so far to the house for 64 bux shipped. Two kits and 5 books like others Med. FRB of 14.00 shipped.
Now to get killed in 7 hrs on the maiden stuff.
Or blow my bank account because I won a bunch of maiden stuff!

Re: Estate Auction of John Petik
I'm still puzzling over how I'm going to repair this hollow cast maquette...

Lots of small shards in addition to the leg and arms. I think I'll have to build up the inside with epoxy putty to give myself something to latch onto.

All parts accounted for.
On the Doom kit I got the damage was a little worse with the cape broken in three places (one piece missing and will have to be re-sculpted) plus a chip on the throne.
All very easy to fix but annoying just the same.
