Final Vampirella Project - UPDATE
Hello to all...and Happy New Year!
I'm working on my last Vampirella kit, and thought it would be a great way to start the new year off, and to share this with everyone too. I've had this kit stored away for some time (seems like forever). After finally getting my hands on this kit I knew what I wanted to do.... remove her from the original base and have her on top of a coffin. I've never made a coffin, but how hard could it be?? Guess I'll find out.
Well, the first steps would be to remove her from the original base. Hopefully I'll be able to manage that without breaking anything or breaking any fingers. It's going to take a little time...I'm almost there...just a bit more cutting...
Success...She's finally free! I'll do all the sanding and prep work on her later. It's now time to put this beauty to the side and start designing her custom coffin.
My original plan was to maybe purchase something off of eBay all ready built (the easy way out), but that plan changed....so I sketched out a pattern and started cutting. After finally getting all the pieces cut and together...I wanted the lid of the coffin to have a three level look.
Now to start working on the accessories to make this casket complete. Still need to make some custom handles...and I plan to have a design on the top of the casket lid.
Okay...it's not perfect, but it will work. Now it's time for some serious sanding to get this coffin ready for its final finish. I'll be back with more very soon =)

Very cool

This is coming along beautifully! Clever idea for the handles and the decorative details on the lid are excellent. I'll enjoy watching this progress.

Always one for the appreciation of customizing kits! Looking great so far. I see the biggest challenge at this point is "landing" her on the coffin. She was sculpted with her upper torso laying on a pile of some kind of debris. So you either need to do a bit of cut and reposition of her, or add in something for her to land on... a pillow, pile of fabric. Looking very cool so far!

Thanks for viewing...and your "eye" for details. I'm much into details and adding little extras to a kit. I appreciate your comments.ffolkes75 wrote:Always one for the appreciation of customizing kits! Looking great so far. I see the biggest challenge at this point is "landing" her on the coffin. Great job. I would have been nervous around the hand and fingers, but you were able to cut them free with little or no damage to them.
