I finished this McVey "Kong", I am going to use it in a diorama fighting McVey's Ymir, I will include a progress photo of it below.

Thanks, Ymir is not painted completely yet, I just airbrushed some color on it, and the base has a long way to go :)

McVey's Ymir & Beast are, to me, successful "takes" in terms of taking a campy stop-motion monster and imbuing it with a bit more "realism".

This one however ... doesn't appeal to me quite so much. First off, it looks more like a chimp than a gorilla to me ... as a sculpt, it didn't quite "make it". Is it scary? Hell yes - but perhaps not in the way its intended to be.

Nice paint up, though!!! :like

I agree about the sculpt, his forehead is too low like he has microcephaly or something. Thanks!

Jon - Is this a commission or just fun?

Looks like an absolutely awesome dio .... so where do you display/keep 'em all? Do you have some photos you can share of your display areas?

Thanks Vlad, this one is just something I wanted to do for myself. Most of my dioramas are just ideas I have and make them to bring to conventions or just enjoy for myself. I have them in two rooms in my little house now (had to kick out all my kids ;))
Here is a video tour of the rooms I did a while ago, I did an earlier one before this, and things have changed enough that I could do a third video soon! I really need to sell a few things to make more room, I have sold two dioramas recently but I have several others I am ready to let go so I can keep building! Anyway, here is that video:

Wow - Thanks Jon - That is really well thought-out and presented. Even my wife said "wow" ... wonder what she would say if I had a proposal to "convert" one of our spare bedrooms ... :rolf:

Yeah...My wife was really nice to me about it...she knows it is a big deal for me to have room for this stuff, but she does kid me about how kaiju seem to be infesting other areas of the house. After re-watching that video I can see I am due for a new one, some of those kits are built or gone and I have acquired a number of new kits too. I added more shelves downstairs and most of the WIPs I was working on are finished now. :)
