Vlad the Impaler

#1 Post by Combathistorian »

All,

I'm getting close to finishing my Vlad the Impaler by Masterworks. This kit has been out of production for a very long time. It is a very cool concept and the pose is great. If you can find one I would suggest picking it up.

Hmmmm ... funny, it doesn't look anything like me* ...

* Combathistorian, you will appreciate this: I was officially dubbed "Vlad the Impaler" in 1995 by Col James P. Concannon, Wing Commander of Kelly AFB TX, following a quite remarkable 6-month run of improbable courts-martial victories in contested cases that resulted in convictions and pretty stiff sentences. (Yes, my first name actually IS Vlad, obviously. I also notice you're in Dayton. I was also a USAF liaison officer/interpreter for the three Presidential delegations to the Dayton Peace Talks. I mostly worked with the Croat delegation, though. If you find the video of the two USAF officers carrying a wreath ahead of Croat President Tudjman when he laid the wreath at the USAF European memorial outside that quanset hut near the Museum - I was the taller one. The other one was Major Keith Yockey.) Ah the memories.
