flesh colors
I have searched and searched here on the boards and just can't find this, but I know it's surely somewhere !
I need a "formula" for a nice healthy mild suntanned skin for Caucasians. Kind of the healthy girl-next-door skin tone.
What colors to combine ???
Thanks !

Re: flesh colors
David Fisher's formula in his videos is 1 part burnt sienna, 2 parts raw sienna and 4 parts white. Varying the mix ratios will give you all sorts of shades.

Re: flesh colors
Here are a couple of examples I painted using the David Fisher formula described by Ant. David uses the multi-step "dark to light" approach that many modellers use. Good luck with your project!

Re: flesh colors
FWIW for the most part I start out with Vallejo Beige Red 70.804

I'll shade it with a wash of either Citadel Agrax Earthshade, or Army Painter's Strong or Soft Tones.
For highlights, I lighten with percentages of V. Ivory
If I want a darker skin tone I start out with one of the tones from Vallejo's skin set

Re: flesh colors
These are really helpful. I have struggled with this painting dilemma too many times and sometimes opt for a mutant or zombie fleshtone. Looking back on this, probably not the best choice but I was desperate at the time. Thanks for the tips and thanks for asking!

To muddy the waters even more, Scale 75 just released this skin set -
https://scale75.com/en/scalecolor-range ... -skin.html
Ive never used Scale 75 paints, but those that did, and created YT videos, says it's heavily pigmented.

Re: flesh colors
Our fleshtones are our # 1 sellers, just ask anyone, we have them in 2 sets, one opaque and one Semi-Transparent to accommodate any painting method.

https://garagekitsuscolors.com/products ... s-set.html
If there's a fleshtone that you can't achieve with our sets, it it doesn't exist in nature. We also have several downloadable tutorials on our site showing both dark to light and light to dark techniques on how to use them by Jim Capone and Saul Alvarez, both masters of fleshtones who use our paints.
We even have a fleshtone Primer: https://garagekitsuscolors.com/products ... rimer.html

Agree. Anyone that paints should have a bottle of Vallejo Beige Red and use it as a base.
