Dakini

#1 Post by sivousplay »

My latest is a wonderfully artistic "1/5" scale sculpt by -冯阳昆 ... sorry, I don't have a translation for the sculptor's name. I added the necklace and the chains that hang from the bottom of the headdress. I thought it was very cool how, the headdress could be removed and there was a separate stand for it. As always, hand painted with acrylics and inks. If you'd like to see more and larger pics, please visit my site at: http://sivousplay.net/html/dakini.html

I hope you like her.

Wow! An impressive paint-up. Superb painting skills, your attention to detail is incredible. Gorgeous flesh tones.
Another spectacular build from The Master.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words. I'm SO pleased everyone likes this piece because it's so out of the ordinary. The sculpt is a true work of art and the sculptor Feng Yangkun has another beauty on the way this summer. I'm hoping I'll be lucky enough to get one of the few kits produced.

About inks ... I use both Vallejo Game Colour Inks as well as some Liquitex inks. You can think of inks as very intense pigment that you can dilute quite a great deal and still get the ability to tint/shade your work. By using very thin layers, you don't obscure detail, but bring it out. Additionally, for certain features, where you'd like there to be a little sheen, the inks are just a bit shiny and can really make things like leather, gems, even metals have a sheen that makes them look more realistic.

I hope that helps.

The painting really enhances the textural aspect of the sculpt. Another fantastic work Jim.
