There's a thread on the Monkey Bars seems to be point-central for COVID-19 cheeriness, but this seemed more appropriate placed HERE.

TeeFury added a couple of clever designs today . . . hope they make you smile :) :thumb2:

Another "40 years old today" post (can you tell this is towards the start of my happiest record-buying years?) :D 8) :hot: \:D/ :jam:

Ronnie-James Dio saves Black Sabbath - and they record arguably the best album Sabbath ever released.
    • Side one
      • • Neon Knights
        • Children of the Sea
        • Lady Evil
        • Heaven and Hell
      Side two
      • • Wishing Well
        • Die Young (link below)
        • Walk Away
        • Lonely Is the Word

Oh yeah. That is a killer album.

My first introduction to Dio was on the Mob Rules album.
I had cassette copies of some of the early Sabbath albums, but I bought Mob Rules, and loved it.
Then I had to go back later and get Heaven and Hell because I loved Ronnie's vocals so much.

Then he went solo, and every time I tried talking to people about how awesome Dio was, they kept thinking I was talking about Devo.

That's just it, even people who loved great music were clueless.
Devo was still a thing then, and for some reason, lots of people had no idea who RJD was.

I only got to see him solo.
I wanted to see him in Heaven & Hell, but then he got sick, and we all know what happened.

I saw him with Heaven & Hell - shortly after it was announced he was sick. Soon after quickly gone................

If he was sick during the time I saw him you could never tell - his voice was still great.

Missed him live with Rainbow (just) - but particularly liked the "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" album.

Saw him multiple times in Sabbath & solo, then once here in "concert sinkhole land" as Heaven & Hell.

Could never help thinking he was one of the ugliest frontmen in rock :) - but MAN what a voice!

IAN!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdN1U9NvuIc

The HU - Song of Women feat. Lzzy Hale

OMG, her vocals are just beautiful. :o
(is it just me, or is there kind of a Grace Slick vibe to her vocals on this)

Such a departure from her normal style, but of course she still brings in that growl a few times just to add a bit of a bite.

Beat me to it Bro - got the direct email about 5 hours ago but didn't get off my arse to post the link.

The lady opens her mouth and hairs stand on end.

Have you seen the Jacoby one?

Yeah. That was a few months ago.
Pretty sure I posted it here, but maybe not.

As much as I liked that, I like this one with Lzzy more because it is so different.
She doesn't get to do this kind of style with Halestorm.
