Mounted Predator sculpted by Takeya produced by Fewture

#1 Post by sivousplay »

It's been a while since I've posted here ... been lazy about updating my web-site. So, a bunch of posts coming.

I'll start with an amazing sculpt created by the master Takayuki Takeya and produced by Fewture so very long ago. I made one pretty substantial change to this kit. Normally, this kit (and the pre-paint version) is displayed w/ an axe in his left hand and a sword in his right. The kit version additionally came with two weapons that could be swapped out in his left hand - a polearm and the axe. I really wanted to display both the polearm and the axe and decided to kit bash the polearm with his existing right hand (which had a sword in it) and re-sculpted it to work in his right hand. His scabbard was empty (because he's supposed to have his sword in his right hand). So, I did a little sculpting to put the hilt of the sword back in the scabbard so that it looked natural as well. He is mounted on an alien/horse. So, I decided to add a little freehand to the aliens dome as well. As always, everything was hand painted with acrylics and inks. I hope you like it.

Once again beautiful work.
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

Good grief, not sure how I missed this but glad I've found it now! Staggering paint work, the attention to details,
your subtle use of colour, glazes and layering are both jaw dropping and inspiring :shock:

Congratulations, outstanding :D

All the best,
Paul
