Remember Tom Parker?
My name is Chopper. Or Chop. Tom Parker was an awesome modeler and producer. I bought models from him from the 1990s. He would sell me a model for $8 instead of $45. Nicest guy you could ever meet. I climbed trees for 32 years. Slow in the winter. He said I have a full bathroom and a bedroom that I will rent you for $400 a month. Moved there in 2 days. Great guy. But here's the real reason you're reading this. He worked hard in the scouts for his Eagle. That's alot of work. Not easy. Instead he got up. Gave his medal/badge filled sash to a down's syndrome boy and let him get the eagle scout honor. Tom's dad was in charge because he was the scout master and he got pissed At Tom. But Tom did the right thing. THAT was Tom Parker.

I remember Tom Parker and thought he was an awesome guy before. Even more so now.
I hope everything is going well for you Chop, haven't seen you in awhile.
Take care.

I wanted one of those Aurora Monsters of the Movies Metaluna Mutant styrene kits. I was worried they would sell out before I could nab one. As I had bought from Tom in the past, he had my number, and knew who I was. He was comfortable enough calling me on the phone. John Tucky was the only other member of the community that had done so before. Tom called me, told me to watch the mail, because he sent me one out, and I could pay him for it as soon as I had the scratch. Yes, I remember him. I thought he was a good fella.

Never met Tom face to face, but had many an exchange with him over the web etc. His knowledge was amazing and he would always sort out a deal for you, just one real, genuinely nice guy. He is sorely missed by all who knew him.
Hope you’re well Chop.

Re: Remember Tom Parker?
I barely knew Tom since i rarely post on here, but I will always remember something from my first trip to Wonderfest. I had purchased an Adam West replacement head for the old Aurora kit from Tom at the show. That was all I asked for and all I expected. The next day Tom hunted me down in the dealers room to give me some photo etch belt details he had just received for the same kit. He handed them to me, smiled and walked away. I found out a little later that he had been asking around for a couple hours if anyone had seen me just so he could give me that special little gift. Up until then Tom and I had only interacted here and over at the PLBB on Hobbytalk. He was a very special man.
