1964 aurora Jekyll n Hyde on eBay - still sealed - YIKES!

$900 with six hours to go.
How could someone pay this much and keep it sealed? It would drive me insane!

You already answered your question..
Some people believe there monetary worth in these kits still..
A return investment etc. Not very likely ..
And some think there kind magical quality to sealed........ old....... kit..
For me I can't see it..

Wow and that is the true wrapper sometimes these are resealed that is a lot of money but when I got back into this hobby sealed Aurora s were going for $200. Back in 87 . Remembering they were $1.50 in 72 last I bought one it was too outrageous so I bought the buildups for $30. And refurbished them ... point is it’s probably comparable to that time ...still too much for me

Collecting old sealed kits that I would never build. Not my thing.

Well, it went for an astonishing $1525. Woke me up this morning more than my coffee did.
Man, what you could otherwise spend $1500 on....

I still have orig Aurora kits in the unbuild pile... and they'll probably stay
that way, mostly becuz they've been re-issued or recasted and I bought
those to build.
Although I still have 2 Godzilla Go-Karts by PL that I'll probably keep unbuilt.
(not like I'm gonna get to the whole pile anyways!)

Well, if you ever feel like taking a European vacation (once this pandemic is over), you'll know how to pay for it!Buc Wheat wrote:I still have orig Aurora kits in the unbuild pile... and they'll probably stay

It looks like the sale has inspired someone else to sell theirs as well:

If it goes for a lot less than $1500, someone's going to be irked.

This one, although sealed, isn't in as nice shape as the first one so it wouldn't surprise me that this one goes for much less.

Went for $355 but with substantial condition issues that wasn't a surprise.

It's a collectible now- old, sealed and in great condition. Why would you open it at this stage to build when you can just buyer a cheaper re-release and build that?
