But when I applied it to the inside faces of the coals, it looked like Cheetos. Then I decided to maybe but some grey around the edges of the orange, like real coals would look. My attempts at straight painting made it look even more fake. Then I got a bit on the orange accidentally, and I decided to lightly drybrush the orange to tone it down a bit. It immediately looked like real coals on the grill!
I immediately thought "I'm going to do this to every model I have that includes coals" - until I realized I don't have any other models with coals...
But if one of your kits has coals, this is a great way to make them glow. It's much more dramatic in real life, since the orange reflects so much light back at you.
