The Shadow model kit pulp icon

#1 Post by hobbygirl »

I’m finally getting back into modeling after sometime. I’m working on The Shadow, a kit i had bought in 2013
I’m in the putty and primer stage and I’m not quite certain if I should add more putty to where the arms meet the body. Look forward to any tips you can give me

The join at the shoulders look fine to me.

Here's how I tackled a similar issue with the Maltese Falcon by making sure the suit looked like separate components sewed together.

As the putty was curing I used a knife to emphasize the seams.

Can't tell for sure at this resolution but maybe a touch more sanding on the arms if you're looking for a smoother texture there.

Thank you Derek. I’ll definitely work on sanding those spots on the arms and waist. I love what you did with the Bogart figure. How did you do the pinstripes on his suit? I recently bought Lon Chaney, Man of a Thousand Faces kit and Lon’s pants will have pinstripes
