My display room
Now that I am somewhere near half done with this room, I figured it was time to make it it's own thread. Also, not really working on setting up my workshop anymore as it is basically done.
So, I have my website updated now, with a separate page for each wall.
https://www.tylisaari.com/models/mine/display.htm
Also added some new pics.

Re: My display room
Having watched the progression since you started on getting that room ready, I must say I am impressed with the final result - love those shelves!

A thought just occurred to me, but to express it, I have to "channel" my wife:
"You get to DUST all those shelves by yourself".

Re: My display room
So far, since I keep the windows and door closed, I haven't had any noticeable dust to deal with.
I currently have 2 more shelves in progress. One for behind the door, and another for under the CDs.
Both are assembled, and tomorrow I will be sanding the putty on the screw holes and priming.

Re: My display room
Is there going to be a dedicated table for the entire Prehistoric Scenes lineup, with all the bases fit together?

No space in that room for something like that.
(well, there is, but I plan to use that space for something else)
Funny you should ask though. As over the weekend I just got done working on this area of my basement.
Which is where I intend to display the entire layout of complete, original kits, that are built, but not painted.
I had hoped to get it done over the weekend but assembling the kits took me a lot longer than anticipated. Hopefully, this coming weekend I will finish assembling the kits I have. And hopefully early next year I will be able to track down the 4 remaining kits I still need for the display.
Finding them, isn't really a problem.
Finding them, at a price I am willing to pay, is another story though

Re: My display room
The next shelf is done and only needs a few finishing touches.
It is to showcase kits I own that were built and painted by other people.
I still need to print out some tags to credit the wonderful artist that painted these beauties. Jeff Raum, Tory Mucaro, Jeff Johnson, and the late John Petik.
And I still need to attach the neanderthal backdrop to the wall behind the kit.
That probably won't happen until after the new year, as I need more ink for my printer, and my funds are tied up with the holidays.
I also added this shelf to free up some space on my table

Re: My display room
That would be Tory's.
He also had these in the display in 2014
The Rex ended up with Atlantis, and they used it in the promo material for their reissue of the kit.

Re: My display room
God how this brings back memories!! My first dinosaur model kits after coming to the US in 1972 ... the smell of that local coffee/newspaper shop that had them all up on the shelf!
