Gal Gadot Wonder Woman 1/4 scale

#1 Post by harpooner54 »

This commission was based on a digitally sculpted 3D printed partial figure kit. Originally the bottom of the figure ended just above her knees & fit into a fancy logo base.
The rest of the legs & armor were sculpted traditionally to make a full figure & then painted. The customer provided a simple base & pewter logo pin to complete the project.
The 2nd to last photo shows some work in progress views & the last photo shows the kit parts as originally designed.

Holy crap

I don't usually pop into this area, but I am glad I did today.
The paint on this is amazing. The skin tones are perfect. As well as the look of her make up.
The paint on the costume is so clean and well defined with beautiful shading.

And the sculpting of the rest of the legs is seamless and perfectly done.

I am sure your customer is extremely pleased with the results.

the skin work is just making me dump all my tools, look forlornly at my
many stacks of unbuilt kits and say, "Sorry guys, I ain't worthy!!" :)

tay666, Lukvader, billikenmonster, Buc Wheat, timetraveler, Glusniffer & LOBOREX- Thanks very much for the comments!!

I don't know who the digital artist was, but whoever it was really captured Gal Gadot's look. When the sculpture is that good, then painting really enhances the resemblance.
This figure needed to be shipped from the west coast all the way to the east coast, fortunately everything arrived safely.

Geez . . . it's like a still from the movie . . . SOOOO realistic.

The likeness, your additions, your paintwork - I honestly cannot think of anyone that can paint the female form & blend skintones better than yourself Image Image

Great photography (as always) too.

Amazing work.

What all of them said!!!

STUNNING LIFE-LIKENESS

MASTERFUL job of sculpting the lower legs and armor. No one would EVER be able to tell it wasn't made like that.

   =D> =D> =D>

Master paint jobs like this one (and that Arnold bust from "Predator") make me glad I am not into painting human figures, as I'd look at work like this and consider giving up the Hobby.

I should have added "Thanks also for rescuing this beautiful sculpt from the 'Bust Scrapheap'!" :rolf:

For the life of me I don't get why anyone would buy and paint a bust instead of a full size figure!

You're not kidding barad-dur - I would marry any of his creations in a NYC heartbeat (if he could breathe life into them, that is!) :drool2:

Anyone not clued in should check the threads started by harpooner ... you'll "get a clue" real fast! :rolf:
