A Different Take on Rock Music ... "Postmodern Jukebox" ...

#1 Post by bucketfoot-al »

I know some of you will enjoy the musical outfit known as "Postmodern Jukebox". Its the brainchild of classical jazz pianist Scott Bradlee, who struck upon the idea of arranging rock-era songs in classical jazz/pop musical styles - and then got a rotating panoply of talented singers and musicians to sing it.

This is not exactly news (they've been doing it for 10 years now and are constantly touring here and abroad). But there are now almost 500 videos of songs with mind-blowing genre arrangements.

I will start you off with my 2 personal favorites:

1. Def Leppards "Pour Some Sugar On Me", but done in a mind-blowing 1960s Aretha-Franklin type R&B style by *SMOKING HOT* Kyndle Wylde:

2. The Spice Girls song "Wannabe", but done in a 1940s Andrews-sisters arrangement by three amazing girl singers:
