Tiny panicky people?

#1 Post by Rocketeer »

The challenge build for the local club is Giant Monster, and I think I have a good idea. And it would be even better with a horde of little teeny N-scale people running, waving their arms, and shouting.

I've done the rounds of the usual model-railroad suppliers with no luck. Do any of you kaiju types have a hot tip on where to find tiny panicky people? It would be much appreciated.

If you've got access to a resin 3d printer, this pack might fit the bill https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/hd-people-26-escape

A long time ago, I did a giant spider diorama, using a bunch of standard railway figures that i slightly heated and reposed to look like they were fleeing. Worked as long as noone looked too closely

Any chance you have any of the old MPC Gigantic series? (praying mantis, scorpion, tarantula) They have a bunch of people in the box that are running/screaming.

Wow, those are great, just what I need. But I've got no 3D printing capability. Poop.

Not sure about the scale of the Gigantics, but I have a couple in my stash; I'll pull one out and do some measuring.

I dug out my Giant Mantis and measured the people; two guys are about 0.63", and one gal is maybe 0.7", which makes the guys approximately 1/110 scale, and the girl maybe 1/94. Ah, the good ol' ever-popular 1/110 scale!

Are those Gigantics going to work? 🤔

What kit is the monster you are building? Gojira by another name? 😁

You simply MUST post some photos of the finished 'bash ... given her SIZE, I presume you will be going for the "au naturel" option???? :alcoholic: Pretty please!!! :mrgreen2: :green_rollin:

Au naturel figures are a hard sell with the wife, so she'll be fully clothed. Probably. Also, ya build a nude figure, ya can't enter it in any contests.
