After it sat on my bench for more years then I care to admit I finally finished this wonderful 1/6 scale resin kit from C&D Nightmare Productions sculpted by Roberto von Behr.
Entitled Blood Feud II, this kit depicts the character Selene - portrayed by Kate Beckinsale - as she spins and shoots the floor out from beneath her to escape an attack by marauding werewolves.
The kit is a freeze-frame of dynamic motion from shattering floor tiles to spent shells... but I wanted a bit more, so opted to attach some of the fractured tiles to her duster as she twirls and sweeps them away...
The face has some very subtle shading done by stippling paint. The character in the film has a very uniform look to her face, there's very little color variation, and her lips are closer to a natural color. A lot of the expression comes from the eyes and the way Roberto sculpted the mouth.
Absolutely superb, well done! I have also on of this kit wainting in my stuffs for years, but still haven't found the time to do it. Your work should motivate me !

Merci beaucoup c'est très sympa, au besoin je n'hésiterai pas !
Amazing sculpt and amazing work bringing it to life. I love the dynamic nature and your tweaks make it even better. It's tricky to have characters clad all in black, but you nailed it. I love all the little details, like the concrete subfloor. Was that part of the sculpt or something you added with paint?

Thanks very much.
Roberto sculpted the piece so that you see the circular floor section falling away and so I thought it made sense to paint the sub-flooring concrete. I also painted the underside of the tiles in grey, again, because anyone who's ever laid tile knows the color is only on the exposed surface.
To break up the colors on Selene I painted the coat a dark brown with a black wash. I found shots of the actual costume on-line and the duster is actually brown, although it reads as black in the movie (probably due to the lighting and post production color adjustments - see below). And to further break up the dark colors I sprayed an iridescent blue over the black latex portions of the suit and then added brass buckles and studs to the boots. I had to have some way of making an otherwise uniform black 'pop' .
