Vincent Price as Matthew Hopkins - a commission

#1 Post by Crazy Joe »

Hey there again, Clubhousers -

Here's a piece I recently finished for a certain alchemist - a lovely likeness of the character from the 1968 British semi-horror film (Matthew Hopkins was a real dude, BTW) Not sure who sculpted it, or who produced it (Tucky?) Fun to paint, for sure. Now, why "Conqueror Worm" and this film are connected, I can't say, but SOMEHOW, Poe's poem is supposed to be, uh, a backstory to this - those of you who are more connected to this genre, feel free to chime in and make me look like a dumma$$... :-)

For the first time, I made use of "Vrush Pens" that I got from Grossman years ago, never got the hang of 'em, but realized they were the only thing that could make these tiny little lines in Matty's hair, and the barrels - I think I was successful, and they are now part of my painting arsenal -

the rest of the shots, and there's a bunch, are here -
