Shadow Battlecrab

#1 Post by Ant »

Been rewatching Babylon 5 recently and always really loved the design of the shadows & their ships.

Found this free STL online which I printed out at about 5" across. It's very fragile but nicely detailed with enough surface texture to be brought out with a bit of light drybrushing.

I also added a LED filament as a laser beam that doubles up as a support - couldn't find a purple one so painted a white one with transparent purple. The filament has both connectors on one end, so the other end was simply glued into a hole drilled into the shadow. The base was a quick 3D print big enough to hold the battery box and had an angled hole to hole the filament at the right angle.

That looks great!
Makes me want to get mine out and work on getting the horrible flash off the parts again.

Fantastic work.

And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?
