OK - who else read that in an "Ian Holm" voice?!? - c'mon - own up!
Stormheart wrote: ↑July 8th, 2025, 2:09 am . . . the psychic scars left behind by having to play them occasionally will never heal.
. . . doctor, doctor, please . . . oh, the mess I'm in . . .
.
Then again, there's songs that "pop up out of the blue" and impress you - like "Shape of You" - which my wife was playing loudly this morning as she came into the office to bring me my oatmeal ... and proceeded to give me a "lap dance" to the beat. No joke.
Yeah. I'm a lucky devil!!! Hate me if you must!
P.S. Not only does she know I posted this, she helped me edit it after I read the posts in this thread to her.
I played softball in the late 1980s with a short roundish guy who played third base - left-handed (was pretty good, too ) ... Chip was his name ...
... anyway, he would be drinking bruskies at the post-game celebrations with this song blaring from the radio, and he would be loudly singing "his lyrics" ...
which were X-rated ... use your imagination ... "Drink Beer - Get ****ed!!!", and "***k your Balls Off, ***k your Balls Off!" ...
If I hear “Pink Pony Club” one more time I am going to head down to the nearest strip club, throw myself onto the stage, and beg the girls to STOMP ME TO DEATH WITH THEIR SPIKED HEELS !!!
With my luck they’d be dancing to “Pink Pony Club” …
I thought of another song I hate. This one bears mentioning because it's from a band that's done a lot of songs that I really like. The band is Styx, and the song is "Mr. Roboto". It's number one in my terrible songs by good bands Top 10,
"So cry 'Crivens' and let loose the clan Mac Feegle!" - Tiffany Aching

I'll see your "Styx" and raise you a "Status Quo" - "Marguerita Time" - OH how I hate that song! . . . literal listening to the death-throes of a much-beloved British institution
Ok, I was reminded of something today at work listening to the radio.
Anything with Jelly Roll.
Some of the stuff was good, but it has been so overplayed and he has been so oversaturated for the last year + that I just can't take it anymore.
Reminds me when Bon Jovi blew up in the 80's. The songs were good, but they were so overplayed that I still can't stand to hear some of them.

Even including ice cream?
. . . oh - he's a singer !!!! . . . I must have led SUCH a sheltered existence - I've (HONESTLY!) never heard a single track by him.
And Bon Jovi ? - I lost interest after 1986's "Slippery When Wet" . . . did NOT like 1988's "New Jersey", and never bothered with them after that.
Another song I hate, and my nominee for most repetitive song, is “Around the World” by Daft Punk. It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and…

You are lucky.
Unfortunately he is a cross-over performer. Meaning I get to hear him on the country station, and the rock station.
And he has collabed with a bunch of other people.
That is why I said way over-saturated.
