Some of my earliest tries at GK kits:

My first "studio" was just a corner of a wrap around porch on a"new" old house. The porch was enclosed, and heated. But my first winter showed the area had not nearly enough heat. After a few years of that I needed to take one of the spare bedrooms on the second floor. I took over the smallest one. Fine. I was warm and continue my building -AND- my buying. It was at this time I "discovered" minis. So I dove into those too -

I was lucky that the house had a full sized attic, altho it was completely unfinished. There was 2 windows and a skylight, so that was a good start. I also wanted room for regular storage. So thanks to my Dad we brought in the the materials and created my studio It only took a few weeks and I had a nice "L" shaped room. I decided to put the work desk in the little part of the "L" and expanded from there. I had a few a few acrylic shelves for me paint, a few Ikea shelves of books, but decided1/2 of them went into storage to make room for my first kits.

Then 9/11 happened and the guys were either working in the firehouse, or at the site digging, for months. Next came odd ailments and hundreds of Dr. appts. First few MRIs were done, and I was told to get it in my head that my career is over... As you would expect no modeling was done. But addicted to the "If I don't get it when first offered, I'm going to lose out" disease, things got out of control.

Things only got worse from there...
Jump ahead to 2013, and the Dr's told me there was nothing more to be done with my 60% lung loss and I got my Disability release. It took some time to adjust, but when I found my balance it was time to start digging into my too large a pile of kits. In my studio chair, surrounded by those boxes, I decided that I couldn't just like everything - which I did (and in cases, still do). I needed to be specific. Back when I was a kid I had the monsters and dinosaurs - I still like them. I also liked the space ships - check. From the Harryhausen I really like Medusa, so that would be another permanent subject for me. Another early memory for my was the 1941 Wolfman. He fit into the other category, but there were so many good Wolfmen, and even when the movie didn't pull it off well - the Wolfmen still did so that was another category. Finally always wanting to be a pilot, I always liked aircraft. But there was a special jerk to my heart when I first saw all these experimental planes of the 30s and 40's. Especially when a certain country in Europe went crazy evil - the planes they invented in their desperation at the end was amazing. I'd have to look into those.
So the shelves went up. first is a generally larger sized models and then mixed 1/4 scale busts

Then I collected the categories - Bigfeet, Wolfmen, Vampires, Medusas, The Thing characters
Dragons, various 1/4 scale busts etc...

Various

Planes, Rockets, & Sci-Fi

Various
So there's my collection as of late 2025. Wjat will happen to the boxed kits? So will have to go. some will manage to stay.
