Yeah, Larry - Action Hobbies.
He was friends with Dave Cockrum and used to sponsor him at the show. At least the year I met him there.
He ended up with a lot of Dave's paperwork and such. Sold most of it to Dave Hodge the first year we had the PS display at WF (2010)

But was a Steg ever casted before the Para?

Oh yeah. Like I said, Mike was producing the steg in the 90's under Lunar Models.
He had the last casting from his molds (as Alchemy) at WF in 2002.
It finally got remolded in 2007.

That is one SWEET Steg kit!!!

I have to thank you for asking these questions.
It caused me to do a little investigation to see if I could find out more about when the kit first went into production. Which lead me to pics of a 1997 Lunar Models Steg from an auction a few years ago.

Cool! And the Holy Grail indeed. I broke down and bought one from Mike in September of last year not knowing I would be forced into retirement 2 months later. So now the holiest of honkers patiently waits for his time at the bench.
Ive long been a fan of Claremont's work since 1975 when was doing the new X-men.


I also later discovered he designed my beloved Yeti!

I think you mean Cockrum.
I was lucky enough to get signed print from him at my first WF

I didn't know until then that he created The Devourer of Souls for the Conan series.

Durp. Yeah my bad. Chris Claremont was the writer during that time.

And next up joining the 'Royal Rumble in the Jungle' and competing for the title of 'Holy Grail' is the Big IG himself stepping up to the bench!

Something I forgot to mention regarding the Para kit. All of the mammals in the series were very accurate in their look where the Dino's had the more comical look. Even the add-ons. But the Para looks more realistic even with Cockrum's design.

A few last shots on the Iggy base to conclude a very productive year. Since its volcanic I'm trying for a poisoned/toxic environment. A swamp pool can be added so I made a little tar-pit! Happy new years guys! Its 5:00 pm and the local 'Tard's' are already shooting fireworks!
