Now that demon looks fantastic! 👍

I agree that the paint scheme of the hounds needs to be changed. Consider lightening the red the same way you did the wings, but also working in another color scheme that works with the red one. So, lighten the red, and work in another color and make the dogs sort of two tone. 😁

Now that looks awesome!
When I read your first post I was going to suggest going lighter like the tones you had in your post from Oct 30th.
But changing the color was so much better.
That one change breathed new life into that kit. Made it much more dynamic.
Loving this!

Thank you Vlad and Trevor!

Hopefully I can figure out how to improve the hell hounds today….

Good news is that uploading pics from my IPAD is working again now.

barad_dur wrote: November 14th, 2025, 4:51 pm I sincerely appreciate all the positive feedback, but I am not happy with how this bash is going.

I think it is a great concept, but I am not doing a good job of executing my vision.

The red skin tones are just not working for me.
I hoped to finish and bring this to kit con contest, but I would be embarrassed to enter it.

I am really struggling to keep working on this, but I don’t want to give up just yet.

I am going to try and use some sponge effects to make the demon wings less monochromatic and hopefully look like light is shining through.

Also plan to try and add some sponge highlights to Hell hounds to break up skin color pattern and soften spotting details,

Almost at the point of doing total reprime and starting from scratch (or even offering it up for sale to someone who could paint it better).
but trying to resist that drastic measure.

Thanks again to all who are following this bash.

I feel ya. I hit that wall all the time and my vision is a fraction of what yours is. Maybe set it aside for a few weeks and let the fog clear - that concept is too cool to give up on.

I second everything Trevor said - the wings now GLOW with a FIRE that *INSTANTLY* draws the EYE to the Demon!!!! Now he looks ... DANGEROUS and SCARY, and like he is about to take FLIGHT!!!! =D> =D> =D>

Can't wait to see what you do with the "Devil Dogs"!!!! :drool2:

Now that is looking much better Joe! 😁

I think that the lighter paint scheme on the hounds contrasts very smartly with the demons colors, much much better than it would look if they were similarly colored. 🤩

To a small degree I think I understand your struggle here Joe. It must be really hard to get the synergy between all the many elements that you're juggling. The interplay between the characters, their form, position, color, tone and all else is very challenging. Your creativity is both your greatest asset and your biggest challenge. And it's very personal. As a result, I feel underqualified to comment.

That said, my 2 cents worth is the Demonator very much looks the part. Infernal. Currently the Hellhounds, not so much. To me the Demonator and the Hellhounds don't look like they come from the same place. GFTM.

Steve, I totally agree with your feedback. I plan to make Hell Hounds have much more reddish and predator like skin tones.

Now see, I was thinking the complete opposite.
I was thinking go darker on the hell hounds. Blacks and grays
Then go fire-y on the back spines and the face/mouth/eyes.

It would keep things from being samey-same.

Laying more washes on Hell hounds. Lots of work left to do .

Seriously considering cutting the demon predator in half in order to make the upper torso longer and increase height.
His torso seems too compact for the longer demon legs, and I would like for him to be a bit bigger as compared to the hounds .

I can see what you are saying, but I really like his compact proportions.
Honestly, I think he is perfect.
I think once you get the hell-hounds right, it will all look great.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I tried doing dark gray and blacks on Hell Hounds but couldn’t make it work .

I have been looking at a lot of predator pics and I like the slimmer taller versions. Plus I need to rework the edge around the abs anyway, so I will probably make the longer torso changes too.

Please keep the helpful constructive criticism and feedback coming !

Well. It is a quick, easy and fun to do fix, so there is that. 😁 Call me been there done that.

After looking at the profile picture of the predator demon, I can see how he might benefit from a slightly longer torso.

And since I'm not contributing any new content these days due to being overly busy with working and other life obligations, I look forward to your updates with great anticipation every day Joe!

Started increasing height by lengthening the torso of the demon Predator
Cut off torso, added support rods, roughed in longer abdomen, widened lats.
Cut off forearms as arms also need to be lengthened to be proportional to longer torso.

Lots of refining and detailing left to do for abs, hips, back, and waist.

Even though torso extension is just very rough at this point, I am very happy with how this change is looking.

Of course because of all this cutting, handling , and resin dust, I will now have to repaint the whole kit , but that how it goes.
