tay666 wrote: August 24th, 2025, 12:44 am Well, I love the original, and the cover is an amazing take on it.
I think part of it too, is their current touring drummer is the former drummer for Sum41 (original artist)
From what I have seen, new album won't be out until next year.

Think the search for a new drummer is putting things behind.

I think it is that when EC (quite deservedly) EXPLODED across the globe over the last 3-4 years, their creativity has floundered in the ensuing touring and chaos.

I can't think of a single "SUM41" song I've heard and liked.

Besides which, if you & I ever agree again on a bit of music, I'm firmly convinced that it will be a portent for the end of the universe as we know it (Fire and brimstone coming down from the sky! Rivers and seas boiling! Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... the dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - MASS HYSTERIA! . . . all while I'm forced to watch every episode of "The View").

We agree on some things.
Classic Maiden. Classic Halestorm. Actually, most classic rock in general.
It's just we differ a lot when it comes to new music. On the bright side though, we are both getting exposed to a lot more than what we would find on our own.

I still think that (as I pointed out to Scuzz a few years back) the metal & heavy rock scene has WAY more talent and variety than it has EVER had. Bands without financial backing from a thieving collection of record companies can now get their artistry distributed to the masses with a simple click of a "post" button . . . and the rock community is MUCH better off for that.

PS: Despite our differing opinions, I'll never let the folks here know how much you like Miley Cyrus . . .

Oh, and kind of adjacent, since she is/was a country star, there is a funny video that came out a couple weeks ago.
Falling In Reverse - "All My Women (feat. HARDY)"

Yeah, I know Ronnie Radke isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he is over-the-top. And when he goes for humor that is a great thing.
Tongue-in-cheek-over-the-top take on country with puppets.
What is there not to like :D

Impressive. I've always admired Amy's voice.

Love college radio. Which where I heard that track.
I don't get much time to just browse YouTube for new stuff. I already have too much to watch (speaking of which Elizabeth just dropped a 2 hour tea-time interview with Bruce that I need to check out sometime this weekend)

Speaking of radio, they've been pushing this one lately.
I'm liking it.

That one is not for me - the vocalist and the music sounds like 90's whiney grunge stuff (always a pet hate of mine - although the movement/fad DID do away with a lot of the cookie-cutter low-grade hair-metal bands thank-goodness!)

Thanks for the heads-up on the Bruce interview - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zy63bs8hEs . . . I hadn't signed in to YouTube yet today so that's something extra to look forward to now! :)

i heard this song in an imdb commercial but it was just a snippet in the background, near the end, of a soprano’s aria.
Then i heard it again in a Modelo commercial. I knew I’d heard it before then i did a google search and found it!
The Ecstasy of Gold from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).
Such a great song!

Ironically, they are coming here Oct 10th.

We would have gone for Halestorm (not the violin lass - who - as you know - bugs the heck out of me), but decided against it since I'm not a fan of the new album, and there will likely be too much material that I don't like.

We'll wait until next time (unless you want a vacation? :) )

You are right, looks like half the setlist is from the new album.
I'd still go if they were close, but I can understand skipping as well.

Love that theme from Good/Bad/Ugly.
It's always inspiring.

Not a song, but I hope you will forgive the "cheeky" use of the thread.

I saw the upload about 9hrs after it was posted.
From 1:31, as the lines were connecting, I kept repeating "Go left", "Go up", "Go left", "Go up" . . . the Wife wondered what the hell was going on!

At 2:52 I scared the crap out of the entire neighbourhood with the scream I let out.

OMG . . . I haven't been this excited about a concert for 20 years (since Scorpions played here) . . . I was practically in tears - and am still shaking.

Thank goodness my Daughter was over and has an American Express card so we could book early . . . floor seats, just in front of the mixing desk - the ONLY place where you'll get decent sound in the cattle shed that is "Rogers Arena".

I'm over the moon right now :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot:

I am happy for you.
I know they are your current favorite group and I am glad you will get to experience them live.

Also, got to give them props on the way they announced the shows.
Very interesting way to do it.

Sounds great Spike! I've hated myself all summer because I couldn't go when they hit Louisville.
