All the Abbott and Costello movies are insanely funny, suitable for the whole family. I enjoy introducing youngsters to this epic comedy duo. Sometimes kids would say 'it can't be any good its in Black & White, they soon learn that much of the best Cinema is in B&W.

Just pre-ordered the extremely limited Blu-ray (only 3,000 copies made) of Cat Ballou, starring Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin. It's priced at $29.95 plus postage and will be available on May 10th.

My son gave me The Revenant as an anniversary gift. Have not been able to watch it yet and the wife is unsure if she will be able to watch it. She claims that she can't handle too much action.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
My wife picked it up over a week ago. I haven't watched it either and I'm not so sure I'll like it, and I think my wife will be disappointed at the overall lack of dialog in the film.scubasteve wrote:My son gave me The Revenant as an anniversary gift. Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
It was a good movie. I need to watch it again as I was slightly confused to what was going on. We did invent a new drinking game. Every time beautiful scenery shows up you take a drink. Lots of slow pans around some very cold mountains.
Yea Leo doesn't have a bunch to say in the film.lack of dialog in the film.

Ordered & pre-ordered some Blu-rays for the ever-growing collection...
Ordered
The California Kid (OOP Blu-ray of a 1974 TV movie from ABC's Tuesday Movie of the Week, cost me nearly $40 for a used copy in very good condition!)
Tales That Witness Madness (I love these old Amicus horror anthology movies!)
Pre-ordered
The Boy Who Cried Werewolf (from 1973, not related to the 2010 TV movie on Nickelodeon!)
Captain America: Civil War (3D version; saw it last weekend and loved it!)

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
Found a couple of good deals on some older multi disc sets at Big Lots.
Paid 3 bucks for an extended edition of the Jackson "King Kong" that has three discs in total with a mountain of production details and deleted scenes plus many images of the original artwork and creature designs.
Got a two disc set of LOTR "Fellowship of the Rings" for 5 bucks ,plenty of extras on the second disc.
There were a lot of rare and unusual finds there at Big Lots. The packaging of the sets are often shop worn but the discs are unopened NIB and undamaged.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
Hehe, nothing bad with this deal!
Got myself the collectors edition of BASKIN, the turkish horror sensation: a very uncomfortable, real weird movie which creeps a lot.
PRISON, the 80ties ghost in a prison movie with "Aragorn"! And it is uncut here!
POD, some Alien movie which got good reviews
PANDEMIC, zombie first person shooter optic. Old story but nice film in my eyes. Anyone into HARDCORE??
Ordered:
CLOWN (presented by Eli Roth)
THE GREEN INFERNO (just curious how he will deliver the goods. I know there are not much, but...)

Ah, KRAMPUS! The trailer was really promising, but I had no chance to see the movie till now. It is more thrilling or more a comedy?? The Krampus design is great so far it is recognizable in the trailer. Famous Artist Brom did a novel about this monster!

I don't know if it's a comedy with horror stuff added or a horror movie with some comedic bits; I haven't watched it yet, but I plan to watch it within the next few days.Frank-Holger wrote:Ah, KRAMPUS! I remember the Krampus making an appearance on the Venture Brothers Christmas special. That was insane.

Re: DVDs...Whatcha' bought lately?
Makes me really curious!
Btw, I have watched a trailer of a SF-movie KILL COMMAND, from GB on youTube. Absolute stunning, great FX and looking really good. Comes out here at the 3rd of June and I think, it could be available in the USA some time. This trailer was one of the biggest positive surprises for me!
