Really enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next season. The creature design of the master is a bit disappopinting, but I digg the nod to the old Nosferatu designs. The glowing red CGI eyes are what makes it over the top for me, I wish they'd left that out or made the effect more subtle.

The Master was a big letdown, but I really dig the ninja vampire hunter guys in the knee & elbow pads :)

There was a lot of talk about this show last year.
This year, not a peep.
Did it get bad? Or everyone just lose interest?

I haven't gotten around to trying this series yet, and was curious if it was going downhill.

The story is unfolding nicely. I was glad to see they introduced the Silver Angel character.

The episodes seem too short.

Yes ,I agree the story is unfolding at a good pace. Love that they introduced some new people into the mix
and glad to see Gus back into the fold. And you have to love the Spider kids
I even think the effects got a littler better ,they don't look so cheesy.

Still watching, also love that they brought in the silver angel (el santo) one of my favs from the books.

The kid's like Carl (Coral) in season two of The Walking Dead. You just want him to die. Other than that, it's a pretty good season. Or as my friend Emilie said today... JUST LET THE MOTHER HAVE HIM!!!

Everyone hates that kid including me. Really brings down the show.
On another note, I agree with you 100%, that ancient Gladiator vampire Quinlan is really interesting. He has a cool backstory.

Here are YouTube links to English dubbed versions of "Santo vs. las Mujeres Vampiro"
AKA "Samson vs the Vampire Woman". Santo is billed as "Samson the Silver Maskman"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umRsp3zTvdk

MST3K version
https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www ... 22-9vnrE-g

Santo was given his choice of three possible Nom de Guerre , Silver Angel was one of these but he chose Santo (the Saint).
A costar of some of his films suffered a career ending injury and was put out of both films and wrestling just like the "Silver Angel" in "the Strain".

Thanks for the links!

Really enjoying the series. Love the way it is unfolding, with a little learned each episode. Some of the tropes are common, but the twists are not completely predictable.

Yes.
It really is a fun series. And like the slow build of things.

Only reason I even knew was I happened to be watching something else on that channel earlier in the day and saw a commercial.

Season just ended with a bang. They have put in a great modern spin on a classic creature.
Effects got better and the story is tight. 1 more season to go.

Was it designed to be a 4 season series?
If so, it makes sense. They can only takes things so much further before it starts to either get old, or get too unbelievable.
(then again, I said the same thing about Supernatural about 6 seasons ago :D )

That damn kid! First the Luchador, now this.
Next season is going to be crazy. And like Trev said, I prefer a short good run rather than stretch out the same thing.
