Excellent! It's always great to hear about young ones who realize that there was actually music before hip-hop came along. :thumb: :thumb:

So how did he (or she) enjoy it?

Oh, she got a kick out of it. First of all Ringo himself is mighty damned spry for 70. If you didn't know better, you would think you were watching a man at leat 20 years younger. And of course he was funny and charming which goes without saying. Ringo did a number of his early solo hits and most of the Beatles songs on which he originally sang lead. His "All-Starr Band" this go round consists of Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Gary Wright, a guy from The Romantics and a guy from Mister Mister. Each of those guys played two of their "hits" during the show. The highlights for my daughter were "Yellow Submarine" and "With A Little Help From My Friends" which of course the entire audience sang along with. But she was also pretty knocked out by Winter's performance of "Frankenstein" and I would have to agree. A real bravura performance that sounded almost exactly like the record. Ringo ended the concert with John Lennon's "Imagine". Nice touch. A good time was had by all. My daughter became a Beatles fanatic at the age of 4. We bought the "Number 1" CD and after about one listen in the car, she didn't want to hear anything else. She would sit in her car seat and demand "Beatles! Beatles!". I hope to get her to see McCartney before it's too late. For someone her age to have seen one and hopefully two of the living Beatles will be something she will treasure for the rest of her life.

That's such a cool story to be able to tell, and if she loves the music that much, definitely get her to a McCartney concert. I've never been to one myself, but after seeing a couple on DVD, I can tell you that she'll get to hear her share of Beatles' songs. My daughter will listen to the Beatles, but to her, "Band on the Run" is epic, so she's a bigger McCartney fan.

Great story, Scott, and glad to hear the two of you had a good time.

You and Hydrobug above will be in for a great show - they literally blew up the stage at Indy last Monday. Some different songs in the setlist as well - Tommy and Eric's combined solos were way over the top!!!
Have a great time!!!

Mastodon, Alice In Chains and Deftones on the Blackdiamondskye tour 10/1 at Scottrade Arena, St. Louis.

I'm just there for Mastodon.

If all goes well I'll be seeing High On Fire in Urbana, IL. on 10/11.

Mushroomhead Oct 14th,Trees in Deep Ellum ,near downtown Dallas.Funny name,I know, but a very good band similar to Slipknot, and was around before Slipknot. They are a 8 man band and I believe Slipknot has 9 members until their guitarist died a few months ago.
