The Passing of a Clubhouse member and dear friend.

#1 Post by fuzzyclay »

It is with great sorrow and a heavy heart to write this , The Modeling Industry has lost a great artist and dear friend Jim Deming ( Kitboy33 ).

Jim passed away on Friday August 9th due to health issues , his wife Marilyn and his beloved dog " Ditto" were by his side on his passing. as most of us know here Jim
was a very talented artist , his kit building and painting skills were the best in this hobby, Jim started building model kits in the early 90's ,he attended Chiller Theatre
shows and started to sell his work. He started his own model kit business " Fantasy Creations " where he was painting model kits for people around the world.

Jim took a break from the hobby for a while to pursue other interests , he then came back fresh to start a new company called " The Creature Lab " from there he took off
becoming a kit producer and Master kit painter for collectors around the world.

I will truly miss You my friend , You were a true friend and one of the funniest people I have known , You got me in into this hobby and now I have a passion for sculpting because of you , I will miss our conversations , I will miss stopping by to show you what I have been working on and all the laughter that came with it.

"May You Rest in Peace"

I will miss you Buddy

I am absolutely floored by this news. I had just spoken with Jim only a few weeks ago via Pms here and had purchased a couple Creature Labs kits from him at that time. I can't say that I have meet many people in this hobby that have touched my heart but I can proudly say that Jim was one of the few. You will be missed my friend. I will have that drink we talked about at JF. You will be missed Papa Jim

Jim was a client and a VERY nice guy, he will be missed ... my deepest condolences to his family.

We'll all have a toast to Jim and Steve at Jerseyfest.

Scott ... if there is anything we can do for his family, please let us know.

Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I've bought kits from Jim, as well as talked to him via PM and he was truly a nice guy, amazing painter and kit producer. I can't believe this as I spoke to him not too long ago about his Harley kit. This is so sudden...

My condolences to his family.

I don't recall if I met Jim, but the name is very familiar, and it's always sad to lose such an active member of the community. My condolences go to his family and friends.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of this. I dealt with Jim a couple of times, and he was always a great person to work with.

He will be missed.
Best regards,

So sorry to hear this. I spoke with him about a year ago or so about doing some projects together. Seemed like such a nice guy.

No doubt he will be missed.

Really sad news, I haven't had much opportunity to correspond with Jim but I've always admired his work. My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

Very sad news, indeed. My communication with the man was limited, but you could tell he was a class act.

Prayers and condolences for his family and friends.
