Jerseyfest Impressions

#1 Post by DoctorG »

I was only able to attend the show on Saturday, but was very encouraged by the attendance and the model contest turn out. The number of contest entries was triple that from last year and the quality was high as well. I think Dave and Rob put a lot of energy into this "second" show and it paid off! There was a definite WonderFest "feel" to the show, and that's always a good sign :)

Great to see you George. I agree with you, the whole show had a great vibe!

I arrived on Thursday, left on Sunday.

Hotel was decent. Easy to get to... not so crazy about the food choices at the hotel, but there are places to drive to if you don't mind the "no left turn" deal...

I was able to get a buddy to come along because he was into the space hardware... so as long as this event has a good mixture of dealers and talks in both SciFi Hardware and figures... this will be a good show to go to.

Keep the location... close enough for me to drive to from MA.

This was a fun, friendly show -- lots to see (an absolutely amazing model contest); lots to do (non-stop programming that was on time or close to it, which is not easily accomplished at these shows) and two packed dealers rooms. It was good catching up with Terry (the sleeveless) Webb, who did have sleeves on Sunday (and no shades!) Steve, the T-shirt guy (and keyboardist for the Bash Boys), Bruce and Sharon Tinkle, Scott at Alternative Images, Charlie of the Zone Forbidden, Matt Lawrence and the always friendly, upbeat Jeff Yagher.

In all, a great weekend! But this being "Jersey Fest," where was Chris Christie ... I hear he's hell with an airbrush!

This was my first JerseyFest, so I had no idea what to expect.
I was very impressed with how organized it was and I had a great time.
A very relaxed atmosphere and everyone was very polite.
Not to mention it was only an hour ride from my house... you can't beat that.

I'm really looking forward to JerseyFest 2014. :D

This was my second year at Jerseyfest and I couldn't have had a better time. The amount of effort and attention to every detail that Dave and Rob put in shows everywhere and it makes the show terrific. The overall vibe of the group and the kindness of everyone from the experts to the novice make it a great show. I am looking forward to next year already!
