Tell us about your haul.

#1 Post by tay666 »

Time for everyone to brag about the goodies they bought at the show this year.

I'll kick things off.
In the order I got them (so I can remember them all)
Satan's Pit from XO Facto
Geometric Tremors
Lexx from TZY
Grim Reaper on horseback from Atlantis
(note : I was carrying all 4 of these when that darn fire alarm went off and had to carry them outside with me)
The Hound and Arya from Robb
a couple more Graveyard Scenes from CultTVman
Prehistoric Scenes add on Pachycephalosaurus
and a couple styrene kits from AFM

Don't worry. Looked like he still had a few left after the show, so I'm sure he will be more than happy to fill orders once he gets settled back at home.

Max Factor Guyver Zoinoid. Was told by several people I got a really good deal on it ($40).
About $150 worth of paints.
Didn't see anythng else I really had to have. A couple things I thought about for a while but finally decided not to buy it.

Yeah. John got sick of me pestering him about that kit, so I'm leaving him alone until he's ready for orders.

lets see...
I got one of Gord's new Vampirellas
Dottie from Jesse
Scarecrow from Jesse
Jotnar (from Troll Hunter) from Paul Gill
one of those really cool (in my opinion) Large Rat Finks from the Japanese company that was there a couple years ago...Terry had one copy at his booth
Mobius Adam West Batman
a couple big tubs of Aves
Rosie the Riveter from James (Kit Kong)
Bomber Commander from James (Kit Kong)
a really nice Resin Realities polo shirt from John Diaz (Thanks John!)
a Bela Lugosi wall-hanger from George at Blackheart
Hands for my Slimer wall-hanger and a Grim Reaper toilet paper holder from Jimmy Flintstone
and Terry Webb gave me a copy of the latest issue of AFM, because the WF staff had used my Stella buildup from last year as the background for their ad on the back page of the newest issue, Thanks Terry! (and WF!)
After I got home I realized that I totally forgot to get all of the paint on the special list I had prepared from Jesse...oh well, guess I'll just be paying shipping.

Well, you can see the artwork in my original post now.
Basically, it is the white stallion kit, with a resin grim reaper that sits on it.
I thought it was cool enough to buy at the show price. ($48)

And I forgot to mention the cool kit that was supplied in the painting class.

Black Heart Dracula 360 bust. (Didn't open til I got home and WOW!! It's so professionally done. Base has a label on the bottom and it's ready to paint!! )

Needful Things/Dark Carnival Conan (nicely cast and big. Great representation of the Buscema Conan!!)

XO Facto Glenn Strange Frankenstein (This is a great kit!! Great sculpt and good size. Castings are great as well)

Resin Pimps/Jesse Black Queen bust (great casting and well engineered bust)

Resin Realities Mighty Joe Young (acquired in a trade with a friend!! Nice chunk of resin and great concept)

Dimensional Designs King Kong Died for Our Sins shirt!! (Glad to see these available again!)

Frank Dietz Sketchy Things Book

Forbidden Zone Dracula crest castings

Won some paint sets in the raffle (what am I supposed to do with these? LOL)

Really good show as far as I'm concerned. Even came home with some money to hopefully spend at Jerseyfest if I go!!

Although I got a bunch of cool stuff (Quarantine Studios' Bride of Frankenstein and Filmy's Stella, KitKong's Bomber Belle, some cheap Jimmy Fs for painting practice, etc), the two things I'm most excited about are a figure of Peter Cushing as Dr Frankenstein, ("The Baron") from Greenfield Studios, and a little Life Leecher kit from John Dennet (Moondevil Studios).

The Cushing is a perfect likeness of one of my favorite actors. They also had a figure of Cushing as Dr Van Helsing, but to my eye the Dr F figure was a little nicer; wonderful calm ruthless expression on the face.

The Life Leecher is a perfectly cast figure of a swirling, vaporous abomination issuing from a crevasse; Mr Dennet also had lovely kits of the Jersey Devil (which my friend Scrutus bought) and the Loch Ness Monster, which I plan to order as soon as my wife has gotten over the shock of my Wonderfest expenditures ;) .

Well, I wasn't able to actually go to Wonderfest this year (AGAIN)... but thanks to a friend agreeing to act as my Designated Minion of Chaos, I managed to score Narin's "Rapido Master" kit, completing my Predator Trio. :D
