THE CLUBHOUSE

Hi Folks,

A little late in reporting back on this terrific event, can't believe it was almost 2 weeks ago! So, here are my thoughts and some pics. This was my first trip up to Crewe to visit our flagship UK Garage kit show and I had my buddy and top sculptor Terry Norton with me for company. Well, the journey up the M5 from Bristol through the rain was worth it, we were not disappointed!

An inspiring display of work from all exhibitors and vendors greeted us, there was a great buzz about the place and a very warm and friendly welcome from everyone we spoke to.

The Killer Kits table was sporting several stunning new releases and I quickly grabbed their new 2 figure Dracula AD kit. Sculpted by Steve Thomson, the likenesses to Lee and Munro are outstanding, especially Lee. Mike Hill's classic COTW bust also went in the bag and my Hammer fix was complete! My only gripe, I've got to wait until Christmas before I get them onto the bench!

I decided to have a go at the competition and came with a few kits to show. I've never shown my modelling efforts before, other than to my wife and kids, so was a little cautious. The standard of builds on the tables were most impressive, so I was completely gobsmacked to get my Zombie bust that Terry originally sculpted and produced, selected for 'best bust'! A great surprise and the icing on the cake for both of us to a great day.

Dave of KK and the rest of the team behind organising the event are to be congratulated on flying the flag so proudly for this great hobby. Keep it up guys, highly recommended and looking forward to the next one! See below for a flavour of the show...

Glad you enjoyed the show Paul it was a great weekend we are only a small island so it was great to see so many happy contented, supporters congrats on your win with that superb bust see you next year at the show that grows and grows

Many thanks Mark, it was certainly great to see the hobby is alive and kicking in our corner of the world, lets hope it grows some more for 2017!

Good to meet you Paul, and a pleasure to meet Terry N as well - always nice to put a face to a sculptor . Fantastic job you did on Terry's zombie, a well deserved winner of its category.

Looking forward to seeing paint-ups of your new kits.

Enjoyed the show, my second, a friendly atmosphere, no egos' evident and lots of goodly stuff on display, both on the individual/club tables and on the vendors tables. Would've, should've, could've grabbed more stuff but have to think of my children's inheritance .

Some nice sculpts in progress as well, especially one of a certain GoT character which is definitely on 'the list'.

Got any more pics of the Judge Dredd and perps ?
