Kitbash - shark hunter new pics 2024-01-07

#1 Post by barad_dur »

2024-01-07; new pics page 1; new pics
2023-02-23; new pics page 1; added bases by modifying JL Crinon cemetery bases

Kitbash of sandy collora' shark hunter (tiburonera) kit.

Modifications: Opened mouth, beefed up biceps/triceps, added tail (left over from my kitbash of fewture Cthulhu kit and medusa kits)

I have two of these kits so included pics of both the unchanged kit and the bashed kit

Definitely prefer your rendition. Open mouth make it look far more aggressive, it needed the upper arm muscle added and the tail balances it out nicely.

Thanks! I also gave him a bit more of an aggressive lean.

The shark hunter is one of my favorite kits .
Sandy Corolla did an awesome job creating this creature kit.

Both are great - but I have to say that (with all due respect to Sandy) - I prefer the kitbash!

Thank you for the positive feedback. But Sandy deserves all the credit as he did an incredible job with this sculpt; the details are fantastic!!

My lack of photography skills do not do Sandy's work justice , or the paint job (which for once I am actually pretty happy with) that has much more color variations and contrast than shown in the pics. I spent hours dry brushing which brought out many of sandy's detailed sculpture work but regrettably are not shown in my poor photos.

I highly recommend this kit!

I would love to see what some of the awesomely talented painters in this clubhouse could do with this kit.

Added a base for each creature
Bases are heavily modified cemetery bases by JL Crinon and using woodland scenic realistic water

Nice work with the bases Joe . . . I still prefer the greeny open-jaw guy to the browny closed-jaw one - but they both look very cool.

Great additions to your "Joe's build museum & workshop" home :thumb2: :)

Yeah, I'm with Spike - I would just add that I would probably like the brown guy better IF he had a tail (which would make him too similar to the first one to justify building two ...)

Great bashes, both of them! I especially like the green one, with the tail and the open mouth, he reminded me a little bit of the American Godzilla 98. 🤩

This brings to mind the obvious question, where are you displaying all of these new bashes that you're finishing? Photos of any new display areas would be welcome, so we can ogle them. 🥰😁🤠

That's very modest of you. Most of us are rubbish at judging the quality of our own work. Anyhow until then your efforts are more than adequate. 8)

Great sculpts both, though I'm with Vlad in preferring the green long-tailed creech with more aggressive lean.
