I got a good start on this 1:1 bust at JerseyFest but there was no way it was going to be finished in the time allotted.
So I'm
slowly (I have no other speed) finishing it.
What I need is another 19 people sitting around me painting the same project to kick me into higher gear.

what...you can't bang that out in a 6-8 hour class? slacking there Derek! Heard there were some paint color issues...flesh tones weren't quite what was expected and you all had to do some adjusting?

Steve, the "fairy tale flesh" was a little pinker than John and Jeff anticipated so some of us muted the color with "jaundice yellow."
Honestly, the toughest part of the class was just holding on to the 9 lbs solid-cast head!

Hair blocked in, face is done to my liking.
Added some subtle veining around the nose and in the eyes (probably impossible to see in the photos) and broke up the skin with more shading and some blemishes.
Still need to finish inside the nostrils, gloss eyes and teeth and finish hair plus upper torso/hand.

Additional:
Almost done with the head. Needs some dry-brushed highlights in the hair and eye gloss. Then it's on to the torso.

Thanks.
Was hoping to finish this a month ago but since then I've been hospitalized twice (was just discharged yesterday following second emergency surgery)
Have a clear idea of how to finish - just no clear timeline.

Hey, Derek. I'm sorry to here you've been ailing. I hope that hospital stay got you on the road to s speedy recovery.
Also, I love what you have going with our Phantom wall-hanger. Coming along really nicely.
Take care of yourself, man. And please be sure to send us pics when you are done with the Phantom. GeoS

Scott,
Thanks very much.
It has been a tough six weeks with repeated trips to the ER and OR.
Hoping this is the end of it.
Anxious to get back to this great hobby.
