Continuing to rework the head and wings to add more visual interest and details.

Darn - ANOTHER thread I somehow became unsubscribed from (or missed an update for?)

As Scott would say - let's blame the Russian (or Chinese) bots :)

So - another change of heart huh. Looking good though Joe :thumb2:

Hah, yeah Ian, the wings and head were really bugging me, they were just not good enough....
so try try again..

And very glad that you are back providing positive and helpful feedback !

And I would also welcome painting tips from anyone else out there on how to paint realistic looking wing webbing (preferably without having to use an airbrush) - thanks!

I had the dragon displayed where I would see it every day and it just didn’t look totally how I envisioned it,
so I finally decided that I have to do something to (hopefully) improve it.

Thank you for your continued interest in this project.
I don't now where my notifications went, this is the first I'm seeing this latest re-work - as a long time kitbasher, I empathize! Can't tell you how many pieces I re-worked after they were done for a while because they just "didn't look right" to me! (That is ... when I actually had time for modeling ...:buhg: )

OK. Have gone through the new pictures - this is an IMPRESSIVE re-sculpt! Gone are the "dinosaurian" aspects of the head - this looks like a REAL dragon!!!Absolutely a 100% improvement!!! Love the new wing texture and the new streamlined neck - BRAVO! Can't wait for the final paint up!!!

Thanks B-A!

I may just do the same wing paint that I used on the balrog; reddish base coat with black wash..

I can't convince you to paint it as a green dragon with yellowish stomach, I suppose?

Hah, I tried that green color scheme at the beginning, didn’t go so well.

But I do have another one of these kits and will most likely do a green color on that one, given of course that I can ever finish this one...

Think of how fast you'll be able to do that one, with all you have learned on this build!!

On another note - did you ever get that Klingon Bird of Prey?

Yes, let’s hope so!

I have not received the Klingon bird of prey yet. Steve says all the machine shops around him have been closed due to Covid so he cannot get the armature cut. He cannot give me a firm delivery date.
Good news is that I successfully contacted the guy that sells the KBOP wing motor and I have received that.

Good to hear that BOP will eventually turn up though!

Decided to lighten up the wing webbing to add more contrast.
Still need to dry brush and paint eyes and teeth.

Thanks B-A, Ian and Trevor !
I sincerely appreciate your interest and helpful and positive feedback for this project.

I am happy with the new head sculpt and mostly ok with the new wing webbing paint scheme.

I hope to finally finish this dragon this week so I can move on to the many other bashes on my list!
