AFM Painting Class

I'm excited that my first "real" piece is off for molding and casting, and even more excited that it will be the subject of Steve Riojas' paleo painting magic in this year's AFM model bootcamp! Here's a sneak peek of the model that participants will be working on along with class information. I understand that seats are already filling up, so lock in your pre-show plans now!

Wish I could do the class this year.
Nice piece, and the AFM classes are a blast.

Oh, that is really going to be great to work on (yes, I'm signed up) and a beautiful piece for later display!

Thanks so much! It was a lot of fun collaborating with Steve and Terry on the design, and I can't wait to see what the class does with it.

I read the class description, sorry for the ignorance here but what is reverse scale painting?

We decided to upscale the model for the class. Here's a photo of the final piece next to the original test print. It should be fun to paint, and I'm sure Steve will come up with a crazy color scheme for it!

Agreed.
Wish I could make it to WF.
Sadly, I doubt I'll ever make it. Quite a long trip for me.
Now, a similar class at JF is a another matter.... :D

I’m signed up!! Loving the larger bust. This is going to be fun. I really enjoyed my Creature bust we did two years ago.

I haven't seen a casting of the big one yet, but Terry says it looks awesome. I can't wait to see a bunch of these painted and on display!

Ah thanks dude. That means so much coming from you.

I was really nervous showing it to Stout at Monsterpalooza, but he really loved it. :o

Really making me wish I could make that class. I can't wait to see it in person. The details look pretty tight on the grey one. Upsized must be even more exquisite.

That beautiful figure and having Steve Riojas teach painting it. Whew! A dream come true. 8)

Got my casting of the bust in the mail today, and it's a beast.

It may seem silly, but I was super stoked because it's the first time I've had one of my sculpts cast. I think it came out really nicely. I can't wait to see photos from the class! Be careful because some of those horns are SHARP!

Oh man. Now I am really bummed I can't do the class this year.
That looks amazing.
With some tutelage from Steve and company, it's going to paint up beautifully.
