Absolutely William! I've managed to keep to the trailer, no spoilers, the creatures are looking superb, especially Ghidorah!
It's certainly going to create plenty of opportunity for some exciting new kits :D

I've been eating up all the trailers as they have dropped.

I broke down and read a couple reviews this week. Nothing really spoilery (which is good)
The only complaints I have noted is they seem to think there should have been a bit more time spent with the people as I guess the monsters hog most of the screen time.

So, I think we're gonna be good with this one :D

I would've been fine if they left out humans entirely.

Honestly - could not be less interested.

Everything about this just seemed "meh". I hope I'm wrong - because I know how beloved the characters/creatures/franchise is to so many of you.

Fingers crossed for y'all.

I saw it Friday. I thought all the Monsters looked fantastic, and the Monster action for the most part was Amazing. The Human parts though...It just felt like they were rushing through the Human parts just to get to the next Monster scene. Which is good on some levels, but I was hoping for a little more. All in all I liked it, I will definitely go see it again in the theaters. It was also nice that they had a Tribute at the end to Banno (Director of Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster) and Nakajima (The original Godzilla suit actor) who both passed away.

Also it was nice to hear some of the classic Godzilla themes, although at times they were almost buried under the sound effects like explosions, Monster roars, falling buildings etc.

I thought it was better than the 2014 Godzilla which didn't have enough Monster action. This movie made up for that in Spades!

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. :)

For a giant monster movie, it rocked.....lots of classic Godzilla themes. It would easy to get better writers.
A summer movie for the masses in need of escape....works for me.

We saw it on Friday while in Louisville.
My daughter and I loved it!

It was so great!

Just the right amount of 'plot' and 'story line'.
It's a giant monster movie, it doesn't need a lot of 'acting'.
The human characters were interesting, and the plot made sense, and left lots of room for the real stars to show their stuff.

The use of the original themes was an added bonus. I liked that the use was understated as well. They didn't shove them in your face and say 'Hey! Look what we added!'
I thought the timing of when they used them was quite good as well.

My only complaint, (and it really isn't a complaint) was how shoddy some of the other monsters seemed to be. Granted, they didn't get much screen time, and what you did see was from broadcasts, but they just seemed cheap. But if that was the sacrifice they had to make to showcase the big boys (and girl) then I will take it.

For those that have seen it, the one fight sequence was surprisingly vicious. I could barely believe it.

One word of advice. I have heard that the 3D version is really dark. As in hard to see.
We saw it in 2d, and while there were lots of dark settings, we had no problem seeing what was going on.

Thanks for your feedback Trevor and not letting out any spoilers, I was hoping to see it with my son on opening night and he's under the cosh with work so now it's next weekend.

I am going with the same open mind you have and not entirely sure what critics expect from this type of film. It's a monster mash up, not Shakespeare! I love the advice given by Mark Glassy in his book on garage kit modelling ' Movie Monsters in Scale' (a great book too!) Mark is a top flight cancer research doctor, so not exactly short on intelligence. When going to see any monster or sci fi film, park your brain at the door and don't forget to have fun!

Cheers,
Paul

The man is Shakespeare!

Saw it yesterday for second time in 3D ....excellent monster movie!
Big screen is the way to go with these big monsters! Soundtrack used LOTS of Godzilla themes we all know.

The theater we were in, had multiple screens showing the movie.
So, even when we were leaving, we could hear/feel some of the themes and monster stuff.
It was excellent :)

Great to hear the positive feedback coming in, I've got tickets now for Friday night! I'd love to see a new kit featuring the 2019 characters, based on the classic Yuji Sakai 'Godzilla Gidhora Wrap'.

That's the one where Gidhora is snaked around big G with its wings out. I think it was based on the original movie 'Godzilla Vs King Gidhora' poster art?

The original kit had a huge number of parts, there was an awesome build review in Modellers Resource on this kit. I've also seen beautiful builds by our own 'Kings of the Monsters' Monster Jones and Mike Wallace. The original kit is so hard to find now without remortgaging the house, all I ever see on eBay are the notorious Thai recasts. Let's not go there. Got to be a good time to launch a 2019 version.

Cheers,
Paul

Tanking at the box office..
I have a feeling there will be no king kong vs godzilla
As if it is necessary... anymore..

The studio is already deep into making Godzilla vs. Kong, meaning millions spent already, so I doubt it will back off. Heck, the movie is supposed to come out in less than a year.
