A good airbrush starter set?

#1 Post by Synn »

Can anyone recommend a good airbrush airbrush starter set? Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question.

I have zero knowledge when it comes to AB's but someone asked the same thing a few threads down:

Had some pretty good suggestions in it.

IMHO I'd recommend buying the best a/b you can afford. I find that a lot of the "starter" brushes are cheap, and and time I went cheap I always got burned. Chances are you'll have problems with it, and end up thinking airbrushing is a lot harder than it really is.
The one I use is the Iwata Revolution CR, and I love it. It's double action which gives you a lot of versatility. And IMO if you're just starting out there's very little extra learning curve learning double action vs getting used to a single action and then have to learn double - air vs. paint ratios.
For air there's lots of ways to go. But I would recommend getting a compressor. A lot of them are essentially the same. You just want to make sure it comes with (or you can add) a regulator, and depending on where you live - a water trap. HTH

Kev gives great advice. Using cheap tools often results in disappointment. :?
