Nebula

#1 Post by grymm-one »

Just finished my 1/6scale Nebula figure by Marco Art.
It comes with swap out arms. I set magnets to make that a snap. The quality of the sculpture is awesome and fit is perfect. You can also get this in 120mm scale
Thanks for keeping.

That's very good Grymm-one. The lighting is as good as the painting! =D>

Great job on it!

I had been on the fence about purchasing a copy for myself.

Now though, after seeing your really well-done paint job on yours, I'm reconsidering.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey Grymm-one,

Thanks, but yeah, I already know about Marco Arts. I originally got wind of his excellent work
with his release of Alita (from Battle Angel). I picked up two of them, along with his full set of accessories.

Then I moved onto his Captain America.

From there I picked up his Iron Patriot, and finished up with his Thor.

The only two pieces from the Marvel Universe I didn't buy were the Iron Man, along with Nebula.

His work is PHENOMENAL! His figures are some of the best detailed I've ever seen. Each really is a 3D piece of art.

Also I love the way he's included electronic lighting in many of his pieces, (almost as an afterthought). However,
they really help to take the figures to the next level, (like Thor's eyes and chest plate sections glowing in blue,
simulating him bringing down the lighting).

Orrrrr Tony Stark's armor areas flickering internally, (simulating the extreme battle-damage it's taken)

Orrrrr Iron Patriot's jet exhaust from his palms and boots glowing red and orange, (simulating him going airborne).

(That small Rocket Racoon perched on his shoulder was the "cherry on the top" for the figure).

Despite that his figures are very reasonably priced. And, you pay a surprisingly reasonable shipping fee,
with it coming all the way from China, (although with the current state of affairs, I'd STRONGLY RECOMMEND
waiting a while before placing an order).

However, he REALLY IS producing some of the best super heroes in the GK hobby.

I agree . I'd. Hoped to buy the Rocket separately to go with Nebula, but it's only sold as a set. How did you get on with the cloak on Thor? Looks a bit tricky.

(Pics, huh???) :rolf:

Don't you know I'm what they call a very, v-e-r-y s-l-o-w modeler?
I see something I just gotta have, I quickly scarf it up,
may begin working on it (and before you know it my modeling
attention has jumped to something else). :?

Captain America, Iron Patriot and Thor - (sigh) - have found
their ways into my attic stash.

However, I DID do some work on one of my Alitas.

(I decided to start a separate thread on her, so as not to hijack this one.

With respect to Thor's cape, somewhere I either read or heard of a way to make (soft) fabric stiff,
keeping a certain shape. Basically you come up with some sort of jig to drape the fabric over,
followed by spritzing it down with a combination of white Elmer's glue and water.
(Woodland Scenics makes a similar substance, their spray glue, I think).

I'm looking forward to see the progress you make on your Thor, though.
