So, how are your contest entries coming along?

#1 Post by tay666 »

Title says it all.
How is everyone doing on finishing up their contest entries.

Here is a look at my workbench as of yesterday.

Don't know if all 6 will be done for the show, but gonna give it a shot.

It's been over a month, and I am starting to get worried.
I haven't been able to get to the bench in over 2 weeks now, and nothing is finished yet.

If things would quit breaking around the house, I might have time to paint.
The 60 hour weeks at work are not helping at all either.

I'm not that picky. I sadly bring everything I have completed.
I say sadly, because my completed kits are so few.

I'm scrambling on a Huntsman Spider Tank. I was just building it at my leisure, and suddenly I realized that if I keep at it, and nothing big goes wrong, I could have it finished for Wonderfest.

Eight of these babies to paint, and the hull, too:

I haven't entered the contest since 2016 and we haven't spent the weekend there since that show. This year is a different story and we are spending the night Saturday so I can enter some builds. I have quite a backlog of completed kits I'm planning to enter this year. The challenge is how many and which ones to enter

Glad you are getting to spend some time.
I come in on Thursday and leave on Monday.
The show is my vacation, and I like to make the most of it.

That's BAD ASS! Wonderful build and paint! It would look even more wicked with some black smoke billowing out of that stack.

Well, kits and car are packed and ready.
Just a few last minute things to grab in the morning.

In the end, I will be bringing 7 kits with me this year.
Not awesome, but all things considered, a respectable showing.

Congrats!

Safe trip(s) to you and everyone attending - I suggest Ghost's "IMPERA" as road music (certainly not "Electric Callboy" - you'd crash! )

Hope everyone has a great time, and those of us not going will doubtless attend remotely via the pics & videos :D
