DONE!!! Decals affixed and dried, matte sealant applied and then - the propeller was mounted: a clear acrylic 3.5" wide, 1/16" thick disc, onto which I painted a "prop blur" with help from photo-etched metal "prop blurs" from http://www.propblur.com

They were too delicate to try to mount onto this plane model (different attachment design), so I used them as a stencil instead. (Oh I am a "super-genius" as my wife says I am. (Me and Wile E. Coyote :rolf: )

Next: The big KIT REVEAL!!! COMING SOON!!! :drool2:

Summary thoughts:
  • • The link to the “Resin in Motion” website doesn’t appear to be working.
    • LOL’d at Buc’s post Nov 30th (and at your emphasis RE Gorilla glue).
    • Also laughed (sorry!) at the various shots of your swaddled finger (ouch!)
    • I was trying to figure out what “winglets” were until I saw your pic – I initially though they might be chicken wings off hatchlings despite the implied cruelness & lack of suitability. Now I know.
    • Your Jan 21st post made me think of “Top Cat” (“Boss Cat” to those of us from the UK) given the name of the hobby store (is the owner’s first name “Charlie”?)
    • Joe’s Jan 24th post made me laugh too, and then your reference to Bugs at the piano and Tim’s “glue a model to your fingers” post had the Wife calling from the other room saying ”close the door if you’re going to keep laughing that loud!”
    • I was, however, brought back to reality when Trev said he’d lost an arm. Hope you find it bud – those don’t grow back on their own and driving to work will be a bitch!
    • So – Mr. Jolson beat Randy Bachman to the punch with that saying huh.
    • Many years back, I did own that Mr. Coyote “Super genius” T-shirt.
    • There is a distinct absence of Predators and dragons. I got over it though.

A couple of questions:
  • • Per you initial posts, did this come with the wee lady already painted?
    • How did you use the diamond drills to cut acrylic for the portholes – surely if you used the same drill bit the plexiglass would have a hole in the middle and the overall circle would be smaller than the hole in the resin?
    • Most importantly - why did Tim post a picture of some cilantro?
Your enthusiasm for the character and the build was palpable. Seems a few folks hereabouts have some competition for “who has the most patience when sharing a step-by-step build”.

A couple of months modelling that you’ll remember forever. Thanks for taking the time to share your progress & techniques. Nicely done Vlad – VERY nicely done =D> =D> =D> Image Image Image Image
      • (* and thanks to everyone for the entertainment! *)

Wow ... thanks for that "thread review" Spike .... glad you enjoyed it!! :rolf:

The Coca Cola bottle top Ann Darrow figure does come painted, but I repainted it as the original paint job would appear a bit flat and cartoonish...

The round acrylic porthole windows (1/2" in size) I found on Amazon ... once I drilled the holes in the dome I glued them into the openings (one arm/hand inside the tower dome from the bottom, the other finger adjusting it from the outside ... painstaking but it worked! Hope that clears things up ...

Lastly, since you mentioned Mr Jolson Spike, I might as well come clean about where I got the idea for title of this thread ...

Coming to Broadway, Spring 1940 ...
