Black Heart Mummy diorama - This could be...

#1 Post by derekc62 »

... my most challenging build ever!

I've been working on this for weeks, doing no end of research and referencing the painted tombs of Rameses, Tutankhamun and Nefertari to come up with the color schemes.

The design is based on an artist's concept of Nefertari's tomb but I've corrected some of the colors used in the artwork and researched Egyptian pottery for the pots, jugs and vases on the shelf... each one unique and painted by hand.

Now that the tomb is complete I just have to paint the actual mummy, a miniature version of the Geometric Mummy by William Paquet, and archeologist Ralph Norton (played by Bramwell Fletcher in the film)

This is a micromania diorama just 4 inches tall, so I should be finished in about 3,000 years! :D

That is insane. Going to be fantastic when it is finished.
