Thru the Stash: THE RANCOR

#1 Post by Squidy53 »

Hello all,
Working through the stash but not sure where to put this latest build up. It certainly did stomp so here it goes...

One of the greatest of the Star Wars creatures and the 1/15 model by AMT/ERTL is easily the best vinyl kit they ever produced.

Yes, he's supposed to be holding a Gamorrean guard -- maybe I'll add him later.

I'm still working on my kit photography.

Just for fun...

Thanks so much HMS. Please truncate away. I've a real soft spot for the Tauntaun and the Acklay is pretty neat too.

The kit was built over the last three or four weeks.

Nice - as is the case with so many of the active/posting members here . . . it SO gives me a buzz to see stuff from those of you that have the time/ability/skill to build. Kudos !!!

(* I'll admit it your heritage doesn't hurt though - for some strange reason, us "whingeing poms" and Ausies seem to have a common bond & humour  *)

Thanks again HMS. Very kind.
Yeah, well, it's taken 'till retirement and aged 70 to "find" the time. I figure if I don't get to those kits that have been collecting dust now, when? As to the skill/ability I don't feel in the same league as many here. I'm posting my gear with a "so what?" attitude. No offence. :)

It's true Anglo Australians do have a similar humor to Poms. I'm a 10-pound Pom though my parents were Irish American and English -- so a foot in both camps.

That looks great. Also looks like a lot of fun to work on.

Nothing wrong with that. I've been working with the philosophy that done is better than perfect.
Not sure where I first heard it, but I know I have heard it many times.
And it is true.
We can futz with these things forever trying to get everything just so. Or we can have some fun, get it pretty good, and move on.
I feel the more I finish, the better my work gets. Just from practice. So better to finish them.

=D> Perfectly put. I reckon this should be pinned to the Index page. Thanks tay666. I think that's swept my last reservations away.

Very cool. Mine has been sitting on shelf waiting for paint for years. So kudos on getting it done.
