Hi,

I need some metal sheet about 1-2 mm thickness that can be cut easily. I need to make some kind of horse shoes for Hellboy diorama.

Anyone knows where i can buy one or creative ideas to make ones ?

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure where you are located, by local hobby shops often carry a rack of scale sized sheet metal such as copper, brass, or aluminum.

Failing that, a trip to the hardware store and look at materials for rain gutters?

I would use a pair of scissors. You could also try several layers of cooking aluminum foil. That is very easily cut.

Note that it doesn't really need to be metal. Use plastic then just paint the colors you want.

Your best bet is to buy a small jeweler's saw http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywor ... 32co4xzq_b

and make or buy a bench pin to cut on http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_ ... Abench+pin

Google them and you should find everything you need

Why do you have to use metal? You could easily use aves or styrene, then paint with a metal finish. In scale, a good paint app would probably look even more like metal than real metal would!

A 2mm sheet would probably be difficult to cut without buying some metal snips or something specialized. I would suggest using one of the methods mentioned that don't use actual metal. The new generation of metal colored paints really look good.

You could use a dremel.

Lead foil would work

If it were me, I would use an appropriate gauge of wire (copper, lead or solder) and bend it to shape and then flatten it out.

Is it 1:6 scale? If so, how about these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Marx-Johnny-Wes ... 33666db5d4 or here: http://www.riorondo.com/

Would the foil lid off of a large frozen lasagna pan work?

A jewelers saw. I use it to cut thick or thin metals, plastics or cardboards, in very intricate cuts.

get a straight piece of metal and bend it to a U shape...way easier than cutting it out.

If you have done any resin casting a very simple way to make identical horse shoes is to make a prototype. It can be made out of any number of materials you can think of. (Thick Sheet Styrene, a leftover piece of scrap resin from a kit or countless other materials.) Once you have perfected your prototype, use it to make a simple one piece RTV rubber mold and then you can cast all the horse shoes you want, then just clean them up and paint them.
If I needed several of them that is how I would do it.

I would also recommend the dremel route. Both blades for the kits below I made from brass plate and shaped using a dremel tool. I plan to do the same thing for my 1/4 scale Freddie Krugar.
