Well why don't you come down here and chum some of this $#!+

#1 Post by Tim Fortuna »

Absolutely had a blast painting this awsome kit from Needful Things expertly sculpted by Chris Wooten.
First time I saw it I pictured Quint on the dock catching a small fish. Can't sculpt so it evolved to him relaxing and catching some chum. Made the fishing rod from crap in my greeblie box. Bucket is a jewelers magnifying glass and the knife is a hardwood flooring nail with a MM Handle.
If I had more time I would have gave him a six pack and a tackle box.
I knew I couldn't do and awsome job painting the water like TimS and Alex so I just made a base from Envirotex. After the third try it started getting expensive so I stuck with the last one.
I also know the sign was paper or a board in the movie but I just have too much fun rusting stuff out.
Thanks for looking.

Tim this is awesome bro, some of your best work. Love the sign, its
perfect. Quint came out great, the base rocks.

Envirotex is pretty cool to wok with, did you run into any issues with it?

Tks

Tim - that looks great! Man, if I'd have seen this before finishing mine, I'd have definately stolen....er...borrowed your idea of the bucket and knife! The fishing pole is an awesome addition, too!

To be fair, I just airbrushed some paint on the sculpted water, then added latex bathtub caulking to create the whitecaps. Really easy to do (or else I wouldn't have done it!)!

SPECTACULAR!!!! Both the sculpt and the paint job. As much as I love the UNIVERSAL classic horrors, it's great to see ROBB putting out kits like this...keep 'em coming!

Thank you very much for the replies everyone. :D
Had a blast painting this and trying to come up with something for him to do
as he stood there. Chris and Robb are a force to be reckoned with, their lineup keeps topping
themselves with each release.
Pun, first try with the water effects was with smooth on crystal cleat and was a disaster. First try with the envirotex poured it all at once, looked okay but when I tried painting the white caps it turned into a mess.
Thanks again everyone, full glad you enjoyed it. :D
