Bachelor's Degree........at long last!

#1 Post by centaur1 »

Got my Bachelor’s degree completed and made Sigma Beta Delta. Been a lot of time and effort to do with a full time job and other things all going on at the same time, but I realized a few years ago you can’t get very far with a mere associate these days.

Some encouragement to anyone else contemplating starting school to get a degree, or even GED…………do it. It’ll give you a leg up on the competition, and you need all you can get these days. And your quality of life may be increased, and how much value can place on that?

Thanks so much.

Sigma Beta Delta is an honor society for business students; the top 10%.

Getting this all done……..tts been a load to carry, to say the least. And how I feel like I am on vacation with only having to work a full time job. I feel like a slacker, already. Its incredible, the pace you can get used to.

Gotta start the home renovation projects now, and also get back to moving some clay! Its been a while.

Don't worry, eventually you'll feel the same way about work as you did about college :)

Thanks, all. I appreciate it. It took me two years of talking to the school recruiter, but I kept putting it off. I realize now that finally going ahead and doing it was one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself.

Sometimes it takes life experience and living by lower income jobs to realize how important education can be to your success in life. I worked my way through a few factories and other hard labor jobs. I put in my time in sweat soaked clothes on an assembly line at break neck pace, to where I can really appreciate working in an office wearing clean clothes in air conditioning/heat.

Sometimes it happens all at once...........it seems as if finally a switch is thrown in your mind and you finally say to youself, enough is enough...........*Is this all my life will amount to? Do I really place such low value on my quality of life that I'm willing to work this low income/low reward job (or whatever the situation may be) for the rest of my life?" I asked myself that for years, and finally it sunk in. I wanted better for myself and knew I was capable of more than that and deserved better. But you have to earn better.

Anyway.......Thanks again.......

My student loan won't be too bad, as I've already paid the high interest unsubdicized portion off, and the remainder is a low interest rate, and I'll start paying towards the balance of that before the first payments start coming due in 2014.

Congratulations, from one who also finished her bachelor's (Computer Science) while working full-time. This was a number of years ago but like yourself, I realized that I'd never get where I wanted to be, professionally, without it.

Congratulations on your new life going forward! =D>
