What are the differences between original KONG and MIGHTY JO

I'm curious to hear from some of you detail minded individuals as to what you see as the primary VISUAL differences between the "apes" in the original 1933 KING KONG and the original 1947 MIGHTY JOE YOUNG? I've pondered it for a while and would love to hear your input...especially in regards to models as well.

don't believe I've ever seen Mighty Jo (either version).

Mr Joseph Young of Africa was only half the size of King Kong, possibly less, and far more correctly proportioned for a gorilla. Of course Kong wasn't exactly a Gorilla, but an ancient ancestor of the ape that resembled a gorilla except in size.
Son of Kong resembled Mighty Joe Young more than he did King Kong.

Another interesting factoid King Kong was made and animated by Willis O'Brien where Joe was made and animated by Willis O'Brien and Ray Harryhausen (his first major gig). Kong was 40 feet tall (according to the novel) and Joe stands about 12 feet tall. One of the armatures from Kong was also used for Joe. The fur for both was rabbit.

If we're talking in terms of the sculpture, I'd love to read Laudati's input on this.

I'm not a sculptor so I couldn't say what the actual physical differences were.
Someone like Joe could.

Joe Young is a lot more rounded than Kong. His overall silhouette is closer to a real gorilla, but he has massive bulk on his arms and legs, perhaps to make up for his short fur. His face is also a lot rounder, with enormous brows and rather large eyes. You might check out the excellent new busts by Mick Wood, produced by Gillman productions, that show the three heads of Kong, Little Kong, and Joe, side by side.
